Introduction Depictions of infant feeding practices in the media influence public attitudes toward breastfeeding and breastfeeding behaviors. Understanding how breastfeeding is represented in the media can provide insights into breastfeeding experiences and outcomes. This study describes trends in breastfeeding portrayals in the United States newsprint media between 2007 and 2016. Methods We conducted a retrospective content analysis of 452 newspaper articles identified from the Nexis Uni database. Articles were coded for tone toward breastfeeding (supporting, neutral, or opposing), message frame, and region (Midwest, South, West, Northeast). We frequency weighted articles by publication circulation to account for differences in readership volume. Results Findings indicate that breastfeeding has been positively portrayed and increasingly discussed. Among the four regions, the South had the most supportive tones, while the Midwest had the most opposing tones. The topics of Health Benefits and Breastfeeding Support and Resources received the most coverage. Positive portrayals surrounding Workplace/University Issues are increasing, while negative portrayals surrounding Indecent Exposure are decreasing. Conclusion Positive portrayals of breastfeeding in newspapers may signify increased support for breastfeeding as a normal practice. Future research is needed to better understand the direct and indirect impact of newsprint messages on breastfeeding in the United States.
Body mass index (BMI) is a risk factor associated with breast cancer in postmenopausal women. This study aimed to identify the associations of BMI with clinical characteristics and management of breast cancer in female Chinese patients.

Clinicopathological information on 1296 women who were diagnosed with breast cancer was collected at our hospital. We recorded the clinicopathological characteristics, molecular phenotypes, manner of diagnosis, implementation rate of preoperative examinations, and surgical method used.

Significant differences were found in the tumor size, disease stage, manner of diagnosis, implementation rate of preoperative examinations, and the surgical method among different BMI groups. In premenopausal patients, significant differences were found in the distribution of molecular phenotypes and surgical approach among different BMI groups. In postmenopausal patients, different BMI groups showed significant differences in the tumor size, disease stage, distribution of molecular phenotypes, manner of diagnosis, rate of implementation of preoperative mammography, and surgical method.

Higher BMI is associated with a larger tumor size, more advanced disease stage, diagnosis by physical examination, higher implementation rate of preoperative examinations, and lower radical surgery rate in Chinese women with breast cancer. However, the relationship between BMI and molecular phenotypes differs between pre- and postmenopausal women.

Quantitative ultrashort echo time-T2* (UTE-T2*) mapping shows promise for the detection of potential tendon biochemical conditions, while validation against established clinical studies in the shoulder is needed.

To evaluate and characterize the healing process of the repaired rotator cuff based on longitudinal changes in UTE-T2* values, clinical outcomes, and repair status in patients after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR).

Cohort study; Level of evidence, 2.

Patients with ARCR (n = 25) underwent quantitative MRI and clinical examinations at serial follow-up time points 3, 6, 12, and 24 months postoperatively. #link# Age-matched healthy controls (n = 15) were evaluated at 3 and 12 months after enrollment. Clinical scores included the Constant, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, and Fudan University Shoulder score, and visual analog scale for pain. The MRI examination included UTE-T2*mapping. UTE-T2* maps were generated for T2* values at the healing site. Selleck GSK923295 was adopted to evaluames and quantitative UTE-T2* values, which highlights the potential of using UTE-T2* mapping to track the tendon-healing process noninvasively. Moreover, the repaired tendon was comparable to age-matched healthy controls at 12-month follow-up based on UTE-T2* values.
This study indicated a healing-related relationship between clinical outcomes and quantitative UTE-T2* values, which highlights the potential of using UTE-T2* mapping to track the tendon-healing process noninvasively. Moreover, the repaired tendon was comparable to age-matched healthy controls at 12-month follow-up based on UTE-T2* values. Background Hematopoietic progenitor cells (HPCs) cryopreservation have applications, especially in the autologous setting, allowing therapeutic use several years after collection. Cryopreservation aims to preserve the therapeutic properties of HPCs, and successful cryopreservation depends on several factors such as preservation procedures, biopreservation media, freezing rates, and thawing procedures. In this context, the choice of the freezing bag is critical as it provides mechanical protection during the freezing process. Since Maco Biotech Freezing-ethinyl vinyl acetate (EVA) Bags® are no longer available in our country, a comparative study was developed to verify bioequivalence with the Miltenyi CryoMACS® freezing bag. Methods In this study, a CD34+-enriched product was used to better reproduce HPC apheresis. Freezing bags were filled with the same volume, cryopreserved with controlled rate freezing, and stored in the vapor phase of liquid nitrogen for at least 6 months. After thawing, all bags were tested for integrity and sterility using a microbial challenge. In addition, a comparison was developed by evaluating recovery of white blood cells, mononuclear cells, lymphocytes, and CD34+ cells. Results No significant differences between the two manufacturers' bags have been observed in terms of the evaluated parameters. Data were confirmed, even comparing bags according to filling volume. Data presented in this study support the conclusion that CryoMACS freezing bags are bioequivalent to Maco Biotech Freezing-EVA Bags for HPC cryopreservation.
