A pooled analysis could not be performed because of differences in outcome measures, time-points, and heterogeneity.

Fourteen studies with 1447 patients were analyzed. The weighted incidence of anterior knee pain was 29% after SP-nailing and 39% after IP-nailing, without reported significance. There was a significant lower rate of malalignment after the SP-approach (4% vs. 26%) with small absolute differences in all planes. No substantial differences were observed in retropatellar chondropathy, infection, physical functioning, and quality of life.

This systematic review does not reveal superiority of either technique in any of the respective outcomes of interest. Definitive choice should depend on the surgeon's experience and available resources.

Septorhinoplasty is a surgical procedure frequently performed by surgeons dealing with facial aesthetic surgery and includes various risks. All surgical procedures have an increased risk of complications. Complication rate of nasal surgeries is approximately 4% to 19%. Although rhinoplasty is a nonsterile procedure, infections occur in less than 2% of all cases. This rate may decrease as the surgeon gains experience. Lacrimal ducts can be injured during nasal aesthetic surgery due to its anatomical structure. In addition to minor and temporary injuries, major injuries requiring surgical intervention may also occur. Most injuries to the lacrimal system remain asymptomatic. Postrhinoplasty dacryocystitis usually occurs secondary to soft-tissue edema that compresses the lacrimal system and typically resolves within 1 to 2 weeks. After reviewing the literature and examining possible traumatic mechanisms, we recommend that the infections in the lacrimal system should be treated with medical therapy before perforion may also occur. After reviewing the literature and examining possible traumatic mechanisms, we recommend that the infections in the lacrimal system should be treated with medical therapy before performing surgical interventions such as dacryocystorhinostomy and abscess drainage. Knowing the complications of surgical interventions before the study and administering some basic principles before and after surgery are highly essential. In this study, we present a relatively rare complication of septorhinoplasty known as acute postoperative dacryocystitis, which is mostly encountered in the early postoperative period.
Rhinophyma is the severe rosacea whit hypertrophy of sebaceous glands in nasal tissue, which severely influences the patient's appearance. Surgical therapy is the best method for treating moderate-to-severe rhinophyma. In this study, we used a new ameliorated scarification for 30 patients with moderate-to-severe rhinophyma.

To observe the effect of five-blades scratcher surgery on moderate-to severe rhinophyma between 2016 and 2019 in our center.

A total of 30 patients were treated with five-blades scratcher under tumescent anesthesia. Outcomes were determined by a patient questionnaire.

Of 30 patients, all of them answered the questionnaire and were included in this study with a follow-up time of 12 months. Cosmetic results were evaluated as very good or good in 90% of patients. The majority of patients (87%) were very satisfied or satisfied with the postoperative result. Selleckchem Tacrolimus Surgical treatment of rhinophyma improved patients' quality of life in 67% of patients. Recurrence of rhinophyma was detected in 7% of patients. In all, 100% of the patients stated that they would recommend this treatment to others.

Recently, the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies Spine committee recommended that additional research on cost-benefit analysis of various surgical approaches for cervical spondylotic myelopathy be carried out and their efficacy with long-term outcomes be compared. Unfortunately, it is highly probable that the oblique corpectomy (OC) will not be included in cost-benefit investigations due to its infrequent application by neurosurgeons dealing with the spine. In this cadaveric study, head and necks of 5 adult human cadavers stained with colored latex and preserved in 70% alcohol solution were dissected under a table-mounted surgical microscope using 3× to 40× magnifications. The OC approach was performed to simulate real surgery, and the neurovascular structures encountered during the procedure and their relations with each other were examined. Oblique corpectomy was performed unilaterally, although neck dissections were performed bilaterally on 10 sides in all 5 cadavers. At each stage of the dissecical spondylotic myelopathy. However, meticulous cadaver studies are essential before starting real surgical practice on patients in order to perform it effectively and to avoid the risks of the technique.
To investigate the effect of weight loss after bariatric surgery on eustachian tube (ET) function with video endoscopy.

The present study was conducted as a prospective cohort and was completed with 19 patients. Three-step tympanometry (basal, Toynbee, Valsalva), dynamic slow-motion video endoscopy, and the Eustachian Tube Dysfunction Questionnaire-7 (ETDA-7) were applied to the patients preoperatively before bariatric surgery and in the postoperative 6th month. Dynamic slow-motion video endoscopy was graded between 0 and 3, or classified as patulous, as indicated in the literature.

The mean body mass index of 6 male and 13 female patients decreased from 47.3 ± 4.6 to 31.2 ± 5.4. Grade decline (median 2 ± 1) was experienced in all patients in DSVE, and 1 patient resulted as patulous ET. The ETDA-7 scores decreased in 11 patients, remained stable in 7 patients, and increased in 1 patient with patulous ET. The statistical analysis of the preoperative and postoperative DSVE grading and ETDA-7 scores, excluding the patulous ET patient, was found to be significant (P = 0.
