The identification of anatomic domain in the liver was successful in all 12 LLRs with negative and positive staining techniques. In the intraoperative cholangiography, all 4 tests were successfully performed. One of 4 patients were found to have biliary leakage which was repaired intraoperatively.
The ICG fluorescence imaging could be useful in safe and precise performance of LLR.

Major hepatectomy with bile duct resection (BDR) is associated with severe postoperative complications; therefore, evaluation of preoperative liver function is important. However, little is known about mechanisms of increased severe complications in patients with poor liver function. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether indocyanine green retention rate after 15 minutes of injection (ICG-R15) is useful for predicting the risk of severe postoperative complications in this operation, and to reveal the mechanisms of increasing severe complications by focusing on immune function and liver regeneration after hepatectomy.
Patients receiving major hepatectomy with BDR between 2000 and 2017 were retrospectively reviewed. Severe postoperative complications were defined as Clavien-Dindo grade ≥IV.
In 284 patients undergoing major hepatectomy with BDR, ICG-R15 was correlated with severe postoperative complications, with cut-off value of 11.8%. In brief, the incidences of hyperbilirubinemia, coagulopathy, loperative complications in patients with high ICG-R15.
Acute cholecystitis is an acute inflammation of the gallbladder. It represents one-third of all surgical emergency hospital admissions and has significant socioeconomic impact. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy, regardless of age, is the gold standard for this disease, but the optimal timing of surgical intervention is an open issue since Tokyo guidelines 2007.
We recruited from March 2015 to June 2018, in a retrospective study, 144 patients with acute cholecystitis and treated with laparoscopic cholecystectomy. The patients were divided into two groups group A (n=66), operated within 72 hours and group B (n=78), between 72 hours and 1 week after the onset of symptoms. After, the two groups were further stratified by the grade of severity of acute cholecystitis in according to Tokyo guidelines in group A, 39 patients were grade I and 27 grade II; in group B, 48 patients were grade I and 30 grade II.
The operative time was longer in group B patients versus group A. In group B, there was a greater difficulty ioms, but above all the grade of severity of AC in according with TG. Grade II, particularly, must be treated within 72 hours and by experienced surgeon.
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the leading causes of cancer mortality. The aim of this study was to examine the trends of HCC treatment and the outcomes in a single tertiary center for 35 years.
Two hundred seventy-three consecutive HCC patients between 1983-2018 were identified from Oulu University Hospital records. Primary outcomes of the study were postoperative complications within 30 days after the operation, and short- (30- and 90-day) and long-term (1, 3 and 5-year) survival.
Of the 273 patients, 49 underwent surgical resection, 25 local ablation, 48 angiological treatment and 151 had palliative treatment. The rate of surgery declined over time, while other invasive treatments increased. Major complications occurred in 14 (28.6%) patients after surgical resection, in 2 (8.0%) patients after local ablation and in 13 (27.1%) patients after angiological treatment (P=0.022). Recurrence and local recidives were observed especially in local ablation group and in angiological treatment group (P<0.001). Overall survival rates in surgical resection group were at 30 and 90 days, 1-, 3- and 5-years 95.9%, 95.9%, 85.1%, 59.0% and 51.2%. In local ablation group, respective overall survival rates were 100.0%, 100.0%, 86.1%, 43.1% and 18.8%, and in angiological group 95.8%, 93.6%, 56.1%, 26.3% and 6.6%. In cox regression model adjusted for confounding factors, mortality hazard was lowest after surgical resection. Prognosis was poor in palliative group.
Based on this Northern Finland population, the surgical resection of HCC has acceptable complication rate compared to other treatments; and yields the best long-term survival. Overall prognosis of HCC remains poor.

In this study, an in vitro coculture model was used to explore the effects of interleukin (IL)-10 overexpressed CHs on degenerated CHs. The original CHs were isolated from the patients' knee joint cartilage and pretreated with IL-1β to get degenerated CHs. Moreoer, CHs were transfected with a lentivirus vector to overexpress IL-10. After coculture with the degenerated CHs, the apoptosis, collagen X, IL-6, and TNF-α of original CHs were increased, and the collagen II and IL-10 were decreased compared to the separated culture condition. Coculture with original CHs did not alleviate the degeneration of the IL-1β-pretreated CHs. However, coculture with the IL-10-overexpressed CHs rescued the proliferation, collagen II, aggrecan, SOX9, and IL-10 expression, and suppressed the apoptosis, collagen X, RUnx2, IL-6, and TNF-α levels in the IL-1β pretreated CHs. Additionally, the IL-10-overexpressed CHs also maintained a healthy state when cocultured with the degenerated CHs. Therefore, transplanting the IL-10-overexpressed CHs in the treatment of PTOA would obtain a more durable and visible effect in alleviating the CH degeneration.
Neuropsychological findings in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) are mainly spread around the role of memory and executive functions. However, the outcomes vary across different OCD populations. In addition, the extent to which each of these factors can distinguish patients with OCD (PwOCD) from healthy individuals has been uncertain and of great attention. The present study aimed to discover the above issues.
This was a cross-sectional study of 182 individuals (90 PwOCD and 92 matched healthy controls). After considering inclusion and exclusion criteria, the participants were administered neuropsychological tests including, Wechsler Memory Scale-III (WMS-III), Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST), and Stroop Color-Word Test (SCWT). Selleckchem L-Adrenaline Using compare mean and regression analysis methods, data were analyzed to test the study hypothesis.
The results demonstrated weaker performance of PwOCD in immediate memory, General memory and working memory as well as response inhibition indexes compared to the control group.
