1. You can only catch ONE Pokémon per route, if you make it faint or run out of balls you cannot catch it and have to skip that area.
2. If one of your Pokémon faints, it is considered dead and you must either release it or place it into your box IMMEDIATELY.
3. Every Pokémon you catch HAS to be nicknamed, this develops a closer bond between you and your Pokémon.
Rules for the Soul Link:
1. Both players MUST be in the same area when they are catching their Pokémon.
2. You are eligible to catch the Pokémon you encounter ONLY if it a different type than your teammates
3. The entire 12-man squad must ONLY have one type per spot, e.g. only one fire type between both parties.
4. Pokémon are LINKED between both games, this means that;
- If Player One's Pokémon faints in battle, Player Two's Pokémon also faints and MUST be released or boxed.
- If Player One wants to put his Pokémon in the box, Player Two has to put the linked Pokémon in the box too.
