5%) with other conditions. A total of 100 (97.0%) of the families agreed or strongly agreed that they felt good about being offered a substitute telephone consultation; 14 (13.6%) said that a telephone consultation was not the best option, whereas 89 (80.4%) would not have preferred a face-to-face consultation; 98 (95.1%) felt that the telephone consultation was useful to them.
A minority of planned face-to-face consultations was substituted by telephone consultations during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Families were satisfied with substitute telephone consultations.

Surgical resection is most favourable in relation to survival time. AZD9291 Unfortunately, many patients are not suitable for surgical resection, due to inoperable tumour location or the patients' poor state. Minimally invasive thermal ablation may pose an interesting new treatment alternative. In this review, we describe the evolution, the underlying physiology and the clinical applications of cryo- and laser-induced thermal therapy of primary and secondary brain tumours. In recent years, the use of opioids in Denmark has been under scrutiny due to various government measures to reduce consumption, greater media focus and Denmark's relatively larger consumption of opioids compared with the Nordic neighbours. Consequently, opioid prescriptions in Denmark have declined since 2017. A more nuanced approach to opioid treatment for non-malignant chronic pain, which includes individualised treatment as well as enhanced interdisciplinary collaboration, is required as argued in this review.Traumatic dislocation of the hip in children is rare. Immediately closed reduction is important but contains a risk of tissue becoming intertwined in the joint space, and a risk of development of avascular femoral head necrosis. In this case report, we present two cases of traumatic hip luxation in an 11-year-old boy and a nine-year-old boy, where intertwined labral tears were recognised immediately following closed reduction in one case and after two weeks in the other. They were treated with safe surgical dislocation of the femoral head. Blood flow to the femoral head was ensured by perioperative monitoring, and both boys had complete recovery. In this case report, a 53-year old man died after ten days with fever and coughing and was tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). A post-mortem CT disclosed ground-glass opacities with focal consolidation in both lungs. At autopsy, the lungs were dark and heavy with increased consistency and without pleural fibrin. Microscopy of lung tissue showed diffuse alveolar damage with hyaline membranes, sparse chronic interstitial inflammation and foci of bronchopneumonia. The deceased was a non-smoker, who did not suffer from a serious illness. He was overweight (BMI = 34 kg/m2), an emerging predictor for poor outcome of COVID-19.Untreated hypoglycaemia in newborns may result in permanent cognitive damage, why early diagnosis and treatment is important. This case report describes a newborn girl, who developed hypoglycaemia, when she was two hours old despite early feeding. The father of the child had maturity-onset diabetes of the young Type 1, which is caused by an autosomal dominant inherited mutation in the HNF4A gene. Due to this, early blood glucose measurements were performed. The child was treated with extra feeding and recovered without any consequences. A later gene test showed, that the child was carrier of the mutation.Ischaemic stroke in persons with migraine may present with aura-like symptoms. In this case report a 42-year-old man with migraine with aura presented with a change in usual aura including visual loss and disorientation. A brain MRI revealed ischaemic stroke in precuneus compatible with these symptoms. We discuss the pathophysiology, the causes and the secondary prophylaxis in persons with migraine with aura and stroke. In this review, we discuss primary central nervous system lymphomas a rare type of tumours confined to the central nervous system. The disease is associated with a poor prognosis, which, however, generally has seen steady improvement over the last four decades, particularly in the younger population. Modern surgical techniques are reserved for diagnosis and has no place in the treatment, which mainly relies on high-dose polychemotherapy treatment regimes with methotrexate as the backbone.Coronary artery disease is a major contributor to increased mortality rates in patients with schizophrenia in whom less treatment of cardiovascular (CV) risk factors is seen. Risk prediction models used in the general population are not sufficient to predict CV mortality in patients with schizophrenia. Measurement of calcium score (CACS) by cardiac CT-scan improves risk prediction in the general population, but has not been investigated in patients with schizophrenia. CACS might contribute to improved CV risk assessment and treatment in these patients and further studies should address this.Feedback is in demand by medical students, supervisors, educational researchers and universities, but clinicians' theoretical knowledge about feedback and learning is limited. In this review, we 1) present various feedback forms and learning theories such as peer feedback, formative and summative feedback, feedback loops, feedforward and self-regulated learning, 2) exemplify how feedback loops can be used in medical education activities, and 3) provide insight into how medical students perceive feedback loops with peer, and how supervisor feedback affects their learning in a paediatric outpatient clinic.Elevated ketone bodies are usually present in patients, who have Type 1 diabetes with ketoacidosis but may also be seen in healthy persons during long-lasting exercise, fasting or on low-carb diets. Intermittent fasting and low-carb diets are popular with people wanting to lose weight. This is a case report of a healthy 51-year-old woman, who admitted with a five-day history of abdominal pain with sudden worsening. She had recently initiated an intermittent fasting regime and followed a low-carb diet. She was diagnosed with diet-induced euglycaemic ketoacidosis, normal level of glycated haemoglobin and normal kidney function. She required isotone glucose infusions for 48 hours.
