God of lack of thereof, the age old philosophical problem.
I'm sure each one of us have tried to answer the question in our own ways as millions of others have before us, as millions will continue to do after we are gone.
And to no surprise, we have all failed miserably (unless of course some of the non adventurous ones have given in to "God's will" after hitting the wall, and others who are simply too afraid to ponder)

Does it or Will it ever lead to a conclusion? Perhaps not.


"Perhaps" may seem a very hesitant word to you, something that gives an impression that I am deliberately trying to corner myself from the matter of concern, but I assure you it is quite the opposite. Why I chose the word would require a bit of explaining to do.


Born and raised in a monotheistic religion the first thing that comes to my mind, Why are there so many belief systems? How can some of us be right and some of us be wrong? Are we all stupid? or are some of us? Is it all about believing in a single universal "power" or many gods and goddesses?(Ok, that one may seem easy.)


Well, truly speaking. I feel neither one of the above is a legitimate question.
Perhaps we as a species are not yet advanced enough to speculate.
We have just begun to ask questions, to scratch the surface.
Our complex nervous systems which have evolved over millions of years ago (to protect us from the noxious prehistoric environments) from simple ones are unfortunately not complex enough to deal with such philosophical issues, nor do we at present have the brains to establish the presence of a universal power.
Even If there is such a universal power It will continue to elude us forever, as it always has. We might get there someday, but we are not there yet. I'll draw a simple analogy, Although you can get an ant to work around a computer, it might take at least a million more years before it has the capability to actually operate one. Why don't we accept that some problems are too complex for us at the moment. If we need to get there, religion is not the way. It merely substitutes curiosity with made up(although comforting) information. It is a pleasant approach which unfortunately takes you away from truth.


Some of you may argue, that you have felt something "spiritual", a power, although not the God of the books.
Have you ever thought If it might be an intrinsic feeling very native to all. Just like sadness, happiness or guilt. Maybe it is a comforting feeling that we evolved to keep us content. A feeling that takes us away from the awful truth, that we are all alone in the universe and there's no one to take care of us. Perhaps the great philosophers were right. God is within us. But what if god is within us "only" ?


Some of you may say, a power answers our prayers. Are your prayers more important than a dying man's or starving child's? What kind of an unjust universal power it is if there is one? Maybe there is isn't one, maybe some of our prayers can answer themselves merely by laws of probability.


Does believing in god make a difference to our day to day lives? the world as a whole? We can very well see that it doesn't seem to be that effective. Maybe the universal power is preoccupied on some other planet-gone-bad? Maybe its not powerful enough to be omnipotent. Maybe it is so powerless, that it does not exist.

All I want to say is we don't know how big the universe is. Life itself is such an infinitesimally small phenomenon. Let us embrace this phenomenon in all its entirety. Whatever the truth is pleasant or unpleasant. Perhaps we should let it be.
