Nevertheless, local religious scholars, under mounting pressure from the Palestinian public, offered sharply contrasting perspectives on the immediate feedback, voicing concerns about the perceived foreignness of the regulations and their discordance with Palestinian cultural norms and Islamic law. This critique brought about a two-year delay in the legislative process surrounding the bill. To evaluate the prevailing attitudes, behaviors, and beliefs associated with human rights concerns, including gender, marriage, and domestic violence, the study analyzed the codices of the proposed legislation, and subsequently surveyed the general Palestinian population. Beyond that, the foundation has forged a partnership with the International Cancer Research Partnership, the global consortium of cancer research organizations.
