I feel as though I should explain what this quote means to me; you can love a person forever, or maybe a version of that person that they present, but trust is a silly thing that we give freely and regret the consequences sometimes. Once you break the trust bond between people nothing becomes valid, and earning it back is difficult. How this relates to the 'L' word I don't know, maybe because love is unbreakable and trust is. Even if a person lies to you about them and you believe it and fell in love with them, and you found out that they weren't who you thought they were, your heart would still want the person you thought they were, still hoping that they are who they are not. And with trust... you don't get a yearning sensation to believe them, not like you do with the feelings along the lines of love. You can trust a person and not love them (maybe) but you can't love a person without trusting them (maybe).
