This study provides a previously unidentified mechanism for positively regulating ABI2 by a plasma membrane protein kinase.Previous studies have shown that experiential avoidance (EA) is associated with physical and psychological well-being in medical and non-medical samples. The aims of the present study were to evaluate the reciprocal association between psychological well-being and EA over time among cardiac rehabilitation (CR) patients with moderately to severely low levels of psychological well-being. Pre-CR data on demographic characteristics, measures of psychological well-being, and cardiac-specific EA were collected from 915 CR patients, as well as post-CR psychological well-being and EA data, from 800 of these patients. A cross-lagged model was estimated to examine the relationship between EA and psychological well-being among patients with moderately to severely low levels of psychological well-being based on questionnaire scores. Both EA and psychological well-being significantly changed during CR and were negatively associated with each other at both pre- and post-CR. Results from cross-lagged structural equation modeling supported a nonreciprocal association between EA and psychological well-being during CR. Pre-CR assessment of EA in patients showing low levels of well-being at the beginning of CR could help to identify patients at risk for worse psychological outcomes. EA could be a promising target of psychological treatments administered during CR.
We classified non-demented European Prevention of Alzheimer's Dementia (EPAD) participants through the amyloid/tau/neurodegeneration (ATN) scheme and assessed their neuropsychological and imaging profiles.
From 1500 EPAD participants, 312 were excluded. Cerebrospinal fluid cut-offs of 1000 pg/mL for amyloid beta (Aß)1-42 and 27 pg/mL for p-tau181 were validated using Gaussian mixture models. Given strong correlation of p-tau and t-tau (R
=0.98, P<0.001), neurodegeneration was defined by age-adjusted hippocampal volume. Multinomial regressions were used to test whether neuropsychological tests and regional brain volumes could distinguish ATN stages.
Age was 65 ± 7 years, with 58% females and 38% apolipoprotein E (APOE) ε4 carriers; 57.1% were A-T-N-, 32.5% were in the Alzheimer's disease (AD) continuum, and 10.4% suspected non-Alzheimer's pathology. Age and cerebrovascular burden progressed with biomarker positivity (P<0.001). Cognitive dysfunction appeared with T+. Paradoxically higher regional gray matter volumes were observed in A+T-N- compared to A-T-N- (P<0.001).
In non-demented individuals along the AD continuum, p-tau drives cognitive dysfunction. DBr1 Memory and language domains are affected in the earliest stages.

To look at best evidence and expert opinion to provide advice in the form of a consensus statement lead by Female, Neurological and Urodynamic Urology (FNUU) section of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) in conjunction with the British Association of Urological Nurses (BAUN).
Initially a literature search was performed with incorporation of aspects of the existing guidance and further informed by UK best practice by core members of the group. The document then underwent reviews by the FNUU Executive Committee members, the BAUN executive committee, a separate experienced urologist and presented at the BAUS annual meeting 2020 to ensure wider feedback was incorporated in the document.
Complications of long-term indwelling catheters include catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI), purple urine bag syndrome, catheter blockages, bladder spasms (causing pain and urinary leakage), loss of bladder capacity, urethral erosion ("catheter hypospadias")/dilatation of bladder outlet and chronic inflammation (metaplasia and cancer risk).
We have provided a list of recommendations and a troubleshooting table to help with the management of the complications of long term catheters.
We have provided a list of recommendations and a troubleshooting table to help with the management of the complications of long term catheters.Five new decalins, monalbidins A-E (1, 2 and 7-9), together with 16 known compounds (3-6 and 10-21), were isolated from the AcOEt extract of marine derived fungus Monascus albidus BB3 cultured in GPY medium. Among the known compounds, 1-hydroxymonacolin L (11), dehydromonacolin J (15), 8-O-acetylmonacolin J (19) and O-acetylmonacolin K (21) were separated from natural sources for the first time. Their structures were determined by comprehensive analysis on the 1D and 2D NMR, HR-ESI-MS, UV and IR data, and their absolute configurations were assigned by experimental and calculated ECD data, and X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis. Monalbidins C and D (7 and 8), monacolin K methyl ester (13), dehydromonacolin L (14), dehydromonacolin K (16), monacolin K (20) and O-acetylmonacolin K (21) showed moderate cytotoxicity against human cancer cell lines SUNE1, HepG2, QGY7701, HCT116 and MDA-MB-231.
Evidence-based practice requires health professionals to recognise situations of uncertainty in their practice, translate that uncertainty into answerable questions, and find and appraise information relevant to those questions. No research to date has explored the research-based information needs of allied health professionals (AHPs) in regional and rural Australia.
To examine the information-seeking experiences and needs of AHPs in regional and rural Australia.
A total of 80 AHPs, predominantly occupational therapists and physiotherapists, practising in regional and rural areas of Australia completed an online survey.
Almost all respondents reported having questions requiring research evidence, but most of their questions were worded non-specifically. Respondents practising in rural areas had greater perceived difficulty in obtaining relevant evidence than their regional counterparts. Many respondents reported wanting additional support to find relevant research evidence.
The findings offer insights regarding information-seeking challenges AHPs face and potential solutions, including improved training and increased health librarian support.
