For the revision of the designed program, the syllabus was shared purposively with selected scholars and experts in the area of health professions education, and their feedback was collected and critically examined. Furthermore, the refinement of the program was performed on the basis of this feedback, resulting in the revised and representative program being ready for piloting.
A preceptor development program on experiential teaching and learning skills was successfully designed and revised with the needs of the clinical preceptors at its core. Preceptors' skills development can advance health care outcomes by preparing competent health professional graduates.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and predictability of cataract extraction with toric intraocular lens (IOL) implantation following deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) or mushroom penetrating keratoplasty (PK).
"Villa Igea" Hospital, Forlì, Italy.
Prospective case series.
Toric IOL implantation was offered to patients with cataract, corneal astigmatism > 1.5D and regular central corneal topography after complete suture removal. Phacoemulsification was performed through a 2.4-mm scleral tunnel and an enVista monofocal toric MX60T (Bausch & Lomb, Rochester, NY) or Eyecryl monofocal toric IOL (Biotech Vision Care, Ahmedabad, India) was inserted in the capsular bag. Main outcome measures were uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA), corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA), manifest refraction, total prediction error and IOL misalignment.
37 consecutive patients that had previously undergone either DALK (n= 27, 73%) or two-piece mushroom PK (n = 10, 27%) were included. All patients completed the 6-months follow-up. The mean toric IOL power was 5.3±1.1 D. Both UDVA and CDVA significantly improved (respectively, from 1.02±0.27 to 0.46±0.31 logMAR, from 0.65±0.27 to 0.11±0.12 logMAR; p<.001). 20 eyes (54%) reached UDVA ≥20/40, while 35 eyes (95%) reached a CDVA ≥20/40. Final refractive astigmatism was 0.93±0.87 D, with 35 eyes (95%) within 2 D. Prediction error was ≤1 D in 18 eyes (49%). Absolute IOL misalignment was 3.3±3.5°.
Toric IOL implantation in post-keratoplasty eyes allows reduction of refractive astigmatism to predictably low levels with concomitant improved visual outcomes.

To compare outcomes of contact lens assisted corneal cross linking (CACXL) and transepithelial corneal cross linking (TECXL) with standard 'epithelium off'' ('epi -off') cross linking (CXL) for progressive keratoconus.
Advanced Eye Centre, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh , India.
Retrospective, comparative study.
Patients with progressive keratoconus undergoing CXL with a minimum follow up of 24 months were included. CACXL and TECXL was performed in patients with 'epithelium on' minimal pachymetry between 350 µm to 450 µm. Main outcome measures included change in maximum keratometry (Kmax), corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA), and efficacy in halting progression (increase in Kmax ≥ 1 diopter [D]).
Standard 'epi -off' CXL, CACXL and TECXL was performed in 34,14 and 10 eyes respectively. Baseline Kmax and CDVA were comparable for all groupsKmax reduced significantly by -2.83 ± 3.35 D, -3.18 ± 2.74D and -2.02 ± 1.66 D in standard 'epi-off' CXL (p<0.01), CACXL (p=0.001) and TECXL (p=0.004) groups respectively; the reduction was comparable for all groups (p=0.63). CDVA improved by -0.14 ± 0.24 , -0.04 ± 0.19 and -0.12 ± 0.17 logMAR units in the standard 'epi -off' CXL (p =0.006), CACXL (p=0.42) and TECXL (p=0.05) groups respectively; the reduction was comparable for all groups (p=0.46). Progression was documented in 2 eyes (6%) of the standard 'epi -off' CXL group and 0% eyes of the CACXL and TECXL groups (p=0.61).
CACXL and TECXL were comparable to standard 'epi -off' CXL for progressive keratoconus.

To evaluate agreement of posterior corneal curvature parameters between a swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) based biometry (IOLMaster 700; Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, Jena, Germany) and Scheimpflug topography (Pentacam HR; OCULUS, Wetzlar, Germany) in healthy, myopic eyes.
Department of Ophthalmology, Osmangazi Aritmi Hospital, Bursa, Turkey.
Retrospective study.
In this study, 59 eyes of 59 patients who applied as candidates for refractive surgery were included. ABT-199 research buy Measurements of the posterior corneal curvature were performed using IOLMaster 700 and Pentacam HR. J0 and J45 vector components were calculated using astigmatic values. Posterior corneal keratometry (K) measurements at flat (K flat) and steep (K steep) axes, and J0 and J45 values were compared between the two devices. The agreement between the devices was analyzed using the Bland-Altman method. Intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) and within-subject standard deviation (Sw) were calculated to assess the repeatability.
The IOLMaster 700 provided significantly flatter K flat and K steep values (P<0.001, for both). Significant differences were found in J0 and J45 values (P=0,013 and P<0.001, respectively). The mean differences between K flat, K steep, and J0 and J45 values were 0.49 D, 0.53 D, 0.04 D, and -0.05 D, respectively.
The IOLMaster 700 and the Pentacam HR could not be used interchangeably to measure K flat, K steep, J0 and J45 values of posterior corneal curvature in healthy, myopic eyes. Both devices showed high repeatability for posterior corneal curvature measurement.
