Comprehensive evaluation of the quality of the mass spectral and ion images demonstrated that the reconstructed data produced by the reported method required only 15% of the typical acquisition time and exhibited both qualitative and quantitative consistency when compared to the original data. Our method enables either higher sample throughput or higher-resolution images at similar acquisition lengths, providing greater flexibility in obtaining FT-ICR MSI measurements.Because of their unique three-dimensional cellular structure and intrinsic properties, polyimide foam materials have bright prospects for development in multiple functional equipment, which arouses extensive concern. In this Spotlight on Applications, several typical fabrication methods of polyimide foams and the related synthesis mechanism have been systematically described. The advantages and disadvantages of the preparation methods have been compared with each other. Representative functions and the corresponding mechanism models have been concluded, which involve thermal, mechanical, sensing, electromagnetic, environmental, and electrical fields. In the end, the severe tasks and challenges of polyimide foam materials have been summarized, and their promising future development is worth expecting. The widespread occurrence of organic micropollutants (OMPs) is a challenge for aquatic ecosystem management, and closing the gaps in risk assessment of OMPs requires a data-driven approach. One promising tool for increasing the spatiotemporal coverage of OMP data sets is through the active involvement of citizen volunteers to expand the scale of OMP monitoring. Working collaboratively with volunteers from the Citizens Statewide Lake Assessment Program (CSLAP), we conducted the first statewide study on OMP occurrence in surface waters of New York lakes. Samples collected by CSLAP volunteers were analyzed for OMPs by a suspect screening method based on mixed-mode solid-phase extraction and liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry. Sixty-five OMPs were confirmed and quantified in samples from 111 lakes across New York. Hierarchical clustering of OMP occurrence data revealed the relevance of 11 most frequently detected OMPs for classifying the contamination status of lakes. Partial least squares regression and multiple linear regression analyses prioritized three water quality parameters linked to agricultural and developed land uses (i.e., total dissolved nitrogen, specific conductance, and a wastewater-derived fluorescent organic matter component) as the best combination of predictors that partly explained the interlake variability in OMP occurrence. Lastly, the exposure-activity ratio approach identified the potential for biological effects associated with detected OMPs that warrant further biomonitoring studies. Overall, this work demonstrated the feasibility of incorporating citizen science approaches into the regional impact assessment of OMPs.With the rapid development of technology, information security has always been considered a major challenge. In this work, the excellent combination of persistent luminescence, photoluminescence, up-conversion luminescence, and thermo-luminescence in a particular material Zn4B6O13Tb3+,Yb3+ synthesized via a solid-state reaction is reported, which can be used for the information encryption and anti-counterfeiting. Tb3+ ions were chosen as the emitting centers for multimodal emissions, and Yb3+ codoping can be used as electron traps and sensitizer to adjust trap distribution and efficient up-conversion luminescence in rare-earth-doped luminescent materials. Besides, the as-prepared luminescent materials exhibit high thermal stability and excellent water resistance. On the basis of these properties, the samples were used to print luminescent images through a screen printing process on the film and banknote. The luminescent image in a film is showing different patterns and on a banknote is showing green emissions under different stimulations. These multimodal emissions demonstrate that the as-prepared sample is suitable for advanced information encryption and anti-counterfeiting.A robust hybrid ion gel is fabricated utilizing the combined strategies of double-network (DN), composite, and high-functionality cross-linkers. The charged poly(2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid) (PAMPS) constructs the DN skeleton, with graphene oxide (GO) and N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide (MBA) being the cross-linkers for the first and second networks, respectively. The ionic liquid, either 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium dicyanamide ([EMIm][DCA]) or 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([BMIm][BF4]), is locked in the network to offer the high conductivity. Compared to the DN PAMPS ion gel without nanoparticles and the hybrid DN ion gel with unconnected silica nanoparticles, the present ion gel exhibits a significantly higher tensile strength (3.2 ± 0.1 MPa) and an excellent compressive strength (26 ± 1 MPa). The [EMIm][DCA] ion gel has a high conductivity close to that of its neat ionic liquids. The conductivity of the gel is sensitive to deformation and temperature, which leads to potential applications in sensing body movements, pulse, and temperature change.SO2-tolerant selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO x at low temperature is still challenging. AGI-24512 ic50 Traditional metal oxide catalysts are prone to be sulfated and the as-formed sulfates are difficult to decompose. In this study, we discovered that SO2 adsorption could be largely restrained over FeδCe1-δVO4 catalysts, which effectively restrained the deposition of sulfate species and endowed catalysts with strong SO2 tolerance at an extremely low temperature of 240 °C. The increasing oxygen vacancies, enhanced redox properties, and improved acidity contributed to the SCR activity of the FeδCe1-δVO4 catalyst. The reaction pathway changed from the reaction between bidentate nitrate and the NH3 species over CeVO4 catalysts via the Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanism to that between gaseous NO x and the NH4+/NH3 species over FeδCe1-δVO4 catalysts via the Eley-Rideal mechanism. The effective suppression of SO2 adsorption allowed FeδCe1-δVO4 catalysts to maintain the Eley-Rideal pathways on account of the reduced formation of sulfate species.
