Acoustical tweezers are very appealing because they provide a fine spatial control of the motion of a single particle in space. Their main limitations are due to the weak restoring axial force and improving this force is still a challenge. We show theoretically that the spherical vortex beams can trap large particles and enhance the axial force. Indeed, the special features of these unusual beams look like the bottle beams in optics. Nevertheless, their spatial complexity presupposes that they can be produced with sufficient precision. Therefore, attention is paid to the synthesis of the spherical vortices. A method based on the inverse filter method is proposed. It allows to synthesize them with a very good precision since the theoretical force is recovered experimentally with an error smaller than 10%. Then, the spherical vortices are used to trap polyethylene beads with radii between 500 and 590µm. Experiments show that the radial trap is working while no beads have been trapped in the axial direction. This failure is analyzed in detail and is shown to be mainly due to sensitivity to the properties of the materials which influences the resonance modes of the elastic sphere. This study paves the way to the optimization of acoustical tweezers for the manipulation of large objects.With the development of ultrasonic technology, some ultrasonic processing technologies require a wide processing range. In this paper, a radially sandwiched spherical piezoelectric transducer is proposed and analyzed, which is composed of a spherical piezoelectric ceramic sandwiched by two concentric spherical metal shells. The electromechanical equivalent circuits of the spherically isotropic spherical shell and the spherical piezoelectric ceramic with arbitrary wall thickness are derived from their motion equations. According to the mechanical boundary conditions, the electromechanical equivalent circuits and frequency equation of various piezoelectric composite vibration systems can be obtained, including the radially sandwiched spherical piezoelectric transducer. The correctness of the proposed theory is verified via comparison with the finite element method and the previous theoretical model. In addition, the 2nd-order effective mechanical coupling coefficient for the radially sandwiched spherical piezoelectric transducer is higher than that of 1st-order within a specific range of wall thickness, which can be designed as the high-frequency transducer. All compounds were evaluated via DDR1 kinase inhibition assay and cell anti-proliferative assay. One of the representative compounds, 6c, suppressed DDR1 kinase activity with an IC50 value of 44 nM and potently inhibited cell proliferation in DDR1-overexpressing cell lines HCT-116 and MDA-MB-231 with IC50 value of 4.00 and 3.36 μM respectively. Further molecular docking study revealed that 6c fitted ideally into DDR1 binding pocket and maintained the crucial hydrogen bonds with DDR1 kinase domain. The observational study with comparison groups was conducted with 90 typically developing Belgian school children and young adults (48 male and 42 female; age range = 5.0-23.0 years; 49 left-handed and 41 right-handed). Participants estimated their hand size and shape using two different tasks. In the localization task, participants were verbally cued to judge the locations of 10 anatomical landmarks of an occluded hand. An implicit hand size map was constructed and compared with actual hand dimensions. In the template selection task, the explicit hand shape was measured with a depictive method. Hand shape indexes were calculated and compared for the actual, implicit, and explicit conditions.
