Since standardized uptake value (SUV) - a normalized semiquantitative parameter used in PET is represented by the intensity of the PET images and related to the radiotracer uptake, a SUV based threshold method is a natural choice to delineate the tumour. However, determination of an optimum threshold value is a challenging task due to low spatial resolution, and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) along with finite image sampling constraint. The aim of the review is to summarize different fixed and adaptive threshold-based PET image segmentation approaches under a common mathematical framework Advantages and disadvantages of different threshold based methods are also highlighted from the perspectives of diagnosis, treatment planning and response assessment. Several fixed threshold values (30%-70% of the maximum SUV of the tumour (SUVmaxT)) have been inveonly for low TBR with different SNR. From this viewpoint, a robust threshold based segmentation method that will be less sensitive to SUV maxT , SNR, TBR and volume needs to be developed. It was really challenging to compare the performance of different threshold-based methods because the performance of each method was tested on dissimilar data set with different data acquisition and reconstruction protocols along with different TBR, SNR and volumes. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of an educational program based on Precede-Proceed model on promoting Low Back Pain (LBP) behaviors among health care workers (HCWs). This Double-blinded randomized trial study was conducted on 112 from 120 HCWs aged from 30 to 55 years The eligible HCWs were randomly divided to intervention group 1 (N = 38), respectively intervention group 2 and control group (N = 37) for which the Precede-Proceed - based educational program was implemented and control group (N = 37). The random multi-stage cluster sampling method was used to recruit HCWs. HCWs completed a self-reported questionnaire on their Low Back Pain Behaviors assessment questionnaire based on the Precede-Proceed Model and a visual analogue scale (VAS) was also used. The data were gathered at initial of the study, 6 and 12 months follow-ups from three groups and were analyzed through SPSS version 19. There was a significant interaction between the factors "group" and "test time" (p less then 0.05, p less then 0.001) of knowledge, perceived self-efficacy, and attitude, reinforcing factors, enabling factors, public health, quality of life and LBP preventive behaviors of the intervention group., although, no significant alternate became located in the mean score of above structures of the control group. Bti based bioinsecticides are considered as a sustainable solution to control the Dipteran insects responsible of plant, animal and human diseases. In this study, Bti strains isolated from Qatar soil were analyzed for their insecticidal activities against the dipteran insect Aedes aegypti Bora Bora (Culicidae, Diptera) and for their δ-endotoxins yields per cell. Among the local Bti strains, four exceptional strains producing spherical crystals, were found to be more insecticidal than the reference strain Bti H14. When tested for their δ-endotoxin yield, the Bti QBT217 strain, producing typical spherical crystals and having the best insecticidal activity, was recognized as the best candidate strain for potential bioinsecticide production and biological control of dipteran insects, particularly the disease vector insect A. aegypti.COVID-19 pandemic and restrictive public health measures due to it can have many effects on physical activity. Our study aimed to compare the levels of physical activity levels (expressed as MET-minute/week), among Qom city (Iran) adults in pre and during the COVID-19 pandemic (January 2020 and 20 to 29 May 2020, respectively). 670 adults were included in this study and grouped based on age and gender. The short-form International physical activity questionnaire (IPAQ, SF) was distributed to the participants through an online survey. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used for statistical analyses. The present study showed that the level of physical activity decreased significantly during COVID-19 compared to pre-COVID-19 in both sexes and age groups (p less then 0.001). selleck Also, this study found that a total of 78% of the participants did not meet the physical activity guidelines during COVID-19 in Iran. Our results indicate the necessity to consider an integrated and comprehensive approach to reduce the inactivity caused by COVID-19.
