It is the first report on the complete chloroplast genome of Plagiogyria euphlebia, a fascinating fern with important taxonomic significance. Its genome size is 161,046 bp with 43.5% GC content, including a large single copy (LSC) region (90,975 bp), a small single copy (SSC) region (21,441 bp), and a pair of inverted repeats (IRa and IRb) regions (24,315 bp). The cp genome has 133 genes involving 89 protein-coding genes, 33 tRNA genes, and three pseudogenes. ML tree reveals that P. euphlebia is sister to Cyatheales, especially closely related to Cibotium barometz. In this study, we determined the complete mitochondrial DNA sequence of the hybrid of Megalobrama terminalis(♀) × Culter alburnus(♂) for the first time. The complete mitochondrial genome of the hybrid was sequenced to be 16,621 bp in size following the female parent, M. terminalis. The genome contained 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and 2 main non-coding regions (the control region and the origin of light strand replication). Sequence alignment between the mitochondrial genomes of the hybrid and its female parent showed that a total of 28 mutation sites were identified in 14 genes or regions. The genome information presented here may play an important role in further study on the genetic mechanisms of mitochondrial DNA in hybrids. The chloroplast genome of Micractinium singularis MM0003 was completely sequenced. This plastome has 139,597 bp in length and consists of 106 genes including 77 protein-coding, 3 rRNA, and 26 tRNA genes. The overall GC content of the genome is 34.0%.The mitochondrial genome of Micractinium singularis MM0003 was completely sequenced. This mitogenome has 75,931 bp in length and consists of 62 genes including 32 protein-coding, 3 rRNA, and 27 tRNA genes. The overall GC content of the genome is 27.5%.Torreya grandis var. jiulongshanensis (Taxaceae) is an evergreen tree endemic to Zhejiang province, China, and it is listed as a rare plant species with extremely small populations. In our present study, we assembled the chloroplast (CP) genome of T. grandis var. jiulongshanensis using high-throughput sequencing data generated by an Illumina Hiseq X Ten platform. The results indicate that the complete CP genome is 136,705 bp in size with an overall guanine and cytosine content of 35.5%. The plastome has lost its quadripartite structure. In the CP genome, there are a total of 119 genes, including 82 protein-coding genes, 4 ribosomal RNA genes, and 33 transfer RNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that T. Leupeptin in vitro grandis var. jiulongshanensis is a sister species to T. grandis. The first complete chloroplast genome (cpDNA) sequence of Magnolia maudiae was determined from Illumina HiSeq pair-end sequencing data in this study. The cpDNA is 160,205 bp in length, contains a large single-copy region (LSC) of 88,249 bp and a small single-copy region (SSC) of 18,806 bp, which were separated by a pair of inverted repeats (IR) regions of 26,575 bp. The genome contains 132 genes, including 87 protein-coding genes, 8 ribosomal RNA genes, and 37 transfer RNA genes. Further phylogenomic analysis showed that M. maudiae was close to Magnolia odora and Magnolia laevifolia in Magnolia genus. We describe the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Sargassum fusiforme. This mitogenome is a circular molecule of 34,695 bp in length and had an overall GC content of 37.54%%. Gene annotation showed that 35 protein-coding genes, 2 open reading frames, 25 transfer RNA genes, and 3 ribosomal RNA genes. The phylogenetic tree based on Bayesian shows that S. fusiforme belongs to genus Sargassum, support current taxonomic systems.Styrax confusus Hemsl. is valued for its beauty and fragrance. Here, we characterized the complete chloroplast (cp) genome of S. confusus using next-generation sequencing. The circular complete cp genome of S. confusus was 157,981 bp in length, containing a large single-copy (LSC) region of 87,571 bp, and a small single-copy (SSC) region of 18,316 bp. It comprises 133 genes, including eight rRNA genes, 37 tRNA genes, and 88 protein-coding genes. The GC content of S. confusus cp genome is 36.95%. A phylogenetic tree reconstructed by 30 chloroplast genomes reveals that S. confusus is mostly related to Styrax calvescens Perk. The genus Pyrus, comprising several popular fruit crops worldwide, includes over 30 tree species. Here we determined the complete plastid genome sequence of Pyrus betulaefolia. The plastome consists of 160,184 bp, including a pair of inverted repeats (IRs) with a length of 26,384 bp separated by a large single-copy region (LSC) and a small single-copy region (SSC) of 88,121 bp and 19,295 bp, respectively. Further phylogenetic analyze was conducted using 11 complete plastid genomes of Rosaceae with KVM + F + I model, which supports Pyrus betulaefolia as a sister to all other eight Pyrus taxa with published plastomes. The complete mitochondrial of Cynops cyanurus cyanurus was determined by using Sanger sequencing and the mitogenome size of C. c. cyanurus was 16,465 bp. It contained 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNAs, 2 rRNAs, 1 control region (D-loop) and a non-coding region (NC). In addition, the phylogenetic tree shows that C. c. cyanurus has the closest relationship with C. c. chuxiongensis. Hoping this study can improve our understanding of the species evolutionary relationship of Cynops.Triplophysa yarkandensis is a specific cobitidae species that is endemic to Xinjiang Tarim River basin, China. The complete mitochondrial genome sequence of T. yarkandensis from Bosten Lake was determined in this study (Accession number MN821008). The mitogenome (16,552 bp) consists of 22 tRNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, 13 protein-coding genes, and 1 control region (D-loop region). The complete mitochondrial genome sequence of the T. yarkandensis provides an important data set for further study in genetic mechanism and classification.Verbascum phoeniceum, known as purple mullein or temptress purple, is a species native to Central Europe, Central Asia, and Western China. In the present study, the chloroplast (cp) genome of V. phoeniceum was assembled using genome skimming sequencing. The cp genome of V. phoeniceum is 153,348 bp in length comprising two copies of inverted regions (IR, 25,430 bp) separated by the large single-copy (LSC, 84,601 bp) and small single copy (SSC, 17,887 bp) regions. It encodes 114 unique genes, consisting of 80 protein-coding genes, 30 tRNA genes, and 4 rRNA genes, with 20 duplicated genes in the IR regions. Phylogenetic analysis indicates that V. phoeniceum exhibits a closer relationship with Scrophularia rather than Buddleja.
