The participants (N = 539) were part of a larger cohort study, the Coordination and Activity Tracking in Children (CATCH) study. The Movement Assessment Battery for Children (2nd Edition) was used to determine rDCD children. Perceptions of motor abilities were measured by the Perceived Efficacy and Goals Setting system. Aerobic exercise performance was measured using the Bruce Protocol treadmill test, and musculoskeletal exercise performance was assessed using the standing long jump and the Wingate Anaerobic test. The rDCD children reported lower Perceived Efficacy and Goals Setting scores and performed worse on all exercise performance measures. Perceptions of ability also mediated the relationship between developmental coordination disorder and each exercise performance test. It is concerning that children with low motor coordination report lower perceptions of ability even at a very young age.

Rugby players rated doping likelihood and guilt in situations describing two perspectives self (their own behavior and feelings) and other (another player's behavior and feelings). They also completed measures of moral agency, identity, perfectionism, and values (moral traits).

Doping likelihood was lower and guilt was higher for self-based ratings compared with other-based ratings. The self-other difference in doping likelihood was mediated by guilt and moderated by moral traits (larger for athletes with higher agency and values). Agency and values were more strongly related to self than other doping likelihood.

This study examined pain responses in lambs marked using rubber rings, with or without local anaesthetic precision injected using the Numnuts® instrument. On each of two commercial farms, 150 prime lambs aged 4 to 10 weeks, balanced for sex, were randomly allocated to 3 treatments handled in a lambing cradle (Sham), handled and marked with rubber rings (Ring) or handled and marked with rubber rings and treated with 30 mg lignocaine using the Numnuts® instrument (NNLA). Time to mother up (one trial site only), acute pain related behaviours at 5, 20, 35 and 50 min, and postures at 10 min intervals from 60 to 180 min were recorded. NNLA lambs tended to mother up more quickly than Ring lambs (P = 0.09), and more slowly (P = 0.07) than Sham lambs. Acute pain behaviours were significantly more frequent in Ring and NNLA than Sham (P less then 0.001) from 5 to 50 min. A prolonged incubation time is generally recommended for diagnosing periprosthetic joint infections (PJI). However, in literature, no distinction is made between acute and chronic infections.

All patients with a PJI that underwent surgical debridement between November 2015 and February 2019 with or without revision of the prosthesis were retrospectively evaluated. Synovial fluid, 5 intraoperative periprosthetic tissue samples, and the sonicated prosthesis were cultured.

Fifty-nine patients were analyzed, including 21 acute PJIs (33 isolates) and 38 chronic PJIs (46 isolates). In acute PJIs, all isolates grew within 5 days, while this took 11 days for chronic PJIs. Sonication fluid showed the shortest time to positivity (78% at day 2) for chronic PJIs, but no difference was observed for acute PJIs compared to tissue cultures.
