To investigate the effect of the combination of atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation and left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) on cardiac function and the success rate of AF ablation.

We retrospectively analyzed the data of 56 patients with AF undergoing a one-stop procedure for AF ablation and LAAC in our hospital between May, 2015 and May, 2019. Propensity score matching (PSM) at the ratio of 11 was used to select 56 control patients undergoing AF ablation at high risk of stroke, for matching with the hybrid procedure group. The perioperative complications, thromboembolic events, recurrence of atrial arrhythmia and cardiac function were compared between the groups.

The two groups of patients were comparable for age, gender, BMI, duration and type of AF, concomitant diseases, CHA2DS2-VASc and HAS-BLED scores (
> 0.05). The incidence of complications did not differ significantly between the hybrid procedure group and AF ablation group (17.9%
12.5%,
=0.430). Compared with the control patients with e one-stop procedure can improve cardiac function of the patients, but AF ablation alone can achieve better improvement of cardiac function.
To investigate the mental health status and its influencing factors among general population and healthcare professionals in Guangdong Province during COVID-19 pandemic.

A online questionnaire-based survey was conducted from March 11st to March 15th, 2020.The questionnaire consisted of 4 parts to survey the participants'basic information, understanding of COVID-19 outbreak-associated information, cognition of COVID-19 pandemic and status of anxiety and depression.A total of 1433 valid responses were collected, including 706 from the general population and 727 from healthcare professionals.Cronbach's α coefficient and exploratory factor analysis were used for reliability and validity assessment.Chi-square, Wilcoxon and Kruskal-Wallis test were used for univariate analysis and ordinal or nominal logistic regression was used for multivariate analysis of the data.

There was no significant difference between the general population and the healthcare professionals in terms of anxiety, depression and cognitionre to COVID-19-related information may have detrimental effects on the mental health.For healthcare professionals, sufficient rest needs to be ensured, and education programs on COVID-19 should be implemented among both residents and healthcare professionals to improve their mental health.Intragastric balloon (IGB) placement under endoscopy is a non-invasive method for weight loss.By placing a space-occupying balloon in the stomach, IGB treatment can achieve better effect of weight loss than medications.Herein we review the development of IGB, its effect on weight loss and the mechanism, and the eligible individuals for IGB treatment.We also examine the high-intensity postoperative management following IGB placement, which is important for maintaining long-term weight loss, and discuss the future development of IGB.The patients should understand that on the basis of ensuring a high safety, the weight-losing effect of IGB can be limited and relies heavily on postoperative management.Patients should make a decision on IGB placement after careful consideration of their own physical, economic, and psychological conditions, lifestyle and the line of work in addition to the indications of IGB.IGB placement combined with high-intensity postoperative management and active interventions of lifestyle and dietary habits help to achieve long-term effect of weight loss and improve obesity-related complications.
To analyze the differences in reflux patterns in 24-hour esophageal pH-impedance monitoring in patients with non-erosive reflux disease (NERD), reflux hypersensitivity (RH) and functional heartburn (FH) and explore the possible mechanism of symptoms in patients with heartburn and negative endoscopic findings.

Seventy-nine patients with heartburn as the main symptoms but negative endoscopic findings, including 35 with NERD, 16 with RH and 28 with FH, were enrolled in this study.All the patients underwent 24-h esophageal pH-impedance monitoring and esophagogastroscopy, and the results were compared among the 3 groups.

Acid reflux episode was significantly increased and weakly alkaline reflux episode was significantly decreased in NERD group in comparison with RH group and FH group (
< 0.05).The patients in NERD group showed significantly increased total reflux episode, mixed reflux episode, proximal acid reflux episode, proximal weak acid reflux episode, total proximal reflux episode, percentage of pd percentage can help in the differential diagnosis between RH and FH.

To investigate high-salt exposure-induced polarization of mononuclear macrophages and the changes in proliferation and phenotypic transformation of renal fibroblasts in a co-culture system.

Cultured mononuclear macrophages were exposed to high salt (161 mmol/L Na +) for 2 h and the surface markers of M0, M1 and M2-type macrophages were detected with RT-qPCR.
