Nonlinear blending technique in dual-energy CT can increase the SNR of enhanced SPN, and it is helpful in diagnosis of SPN.

Grounded on the Job Demand-Resource model, this article explores access to flexible work arrangements and organizational climate on the health and well-being of white-collar, urban professionals in downtown Toronto. A qualitative content analysis of eight semistructured interviews with white-collar, urban professionals between the ages of twenty-five and thirty-two revealed three domains-intensity of work life and demands, coworker and managerial relations, and the boundaries between work and home-where demands outweighed resources to limit workers' ability to practice flexibility. Thus, an emerging trend where workers need to be flexible within flexible work arrangements emerged. Findings point to the need for organizational commitment and activities to address unhealthy behaviors in the context of modern working life.In 2020, medical cannabis is legal in thirty-six states and adult use ("recreational") cannabis is legal in fifteen, despite cannabis remaining illegal at the federal level. Up to 250,000 individuals work as full-time employees in cannabis. During the COVID-19 pandemic, California, Colorado, and other states deemed medical cannabis business as essential, raising occupational challenges and safety issues for cannabis employees. In 2020, interviews were conducted with Ethan, an extraction lab assistant in Las Vegas; Haylee, a trainer with a cannabis company in Sacramento; and Belinda, a Wisconsin-based occupational health and safety trainer, to showcase concerns and experiences in cannabis workplaces and training programs. Wnt inhibitor Findings from interviews reveal pro-worker activities to promote workplace safety and labor unionism while large multistate operators seek to optimize profits and obstruct workers' rights. Knowledge gained through the interviews contributes to discussions to lessen the potential exposure of the cannabis workforce to COVID 19.
Generic preference-based measures (GPBMs) such as the EQ-5D are valid across many conditions, but in some cases, "bolting on" additional dimensions may improve validity. The selection of "bolt-ons" has been based on the psychometric impact of individual dimensions, but preferences provide another important way to select them. This study aims to test the potential of using pairwise choices to inform the selection of bolt-ons for the EQ-5D-5L.

General population preferences were collected using an online survey of 1040 UK residents. Three EQ-5D-5L health state pairs were selected based on pairs that had a 5050 split in respondent preferences from a previous pairwise survey. Participants were presented with pairwise choices of EQ-5D-5L health states without and with bolt-ons of hearing, sleep, cognition, energy, and relationships, each added individually. Logistic models were used to assess the impact of bolt-ons, as well as bolt-ons at different severity levels, on the log odds of responders choosing betweeing information on preferences to support bolt-on selection.Medical conditions co-occurring with traumatic brain injury (TBI) are associated with outcomes, and comorbidity indices such as Charlson and Elixhauser are used in TBI research, but they are not TBI specific. The purpose of this research was to develop an index or indices of medical conditions, identified in acute care after moderate to severe TBI, that are associated with outcomes at rehabilitation discharge. Using the TBI Model Systems National Database, the International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision (ICD-9) and Tenth Revision (ICD-10) codes of 8988 participants were converted to Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) diagnostic categories. Poisson regression models were built predicting Disability Rating Scale and Functional Independence Measure Cognitive and Motor subscale scores from HCUP categories after controlling for demographic and injury characteristics. Unweighted, weighted, and anchored indices based on the outcome models predicted 7.5-14.3% of the variance in the observed outcomes. When the indices were applied to a new validation sample of 1613 cases, however, only 2.6-6.6% of the observed outcomes were predicted. Therefore, no models or indices were recommended for future use, but several study findings are highlighted suggesting the importance and the potential for future research in this area.Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is a diagnosis given to infants who die suddenly and unexpectedly before the age of one. After decades of research into SIDS, little has been conclusively determined regarding the etiology of this phenomenon. While SIDS deaths are in reality undetermined deaths, there is resistance to abandon SIDS and synonymous terminology. This paper identifies the social functions that a diagnosis of SIDS provides both to the families of the deceased, as well as the physicians who treat them. It is suggested that these social functions help to explain why, despite being inaccurate and misleading, SIDS is still widely used today. It is argued, however, that the forensic pathology and medical community as a whole should lead a systematic shift away from the use of SIDS as a diagnosis. Adopting more medically-appropriate terminology would better serve the goals of the medical profession and the families they serve. This article examines how writing can increase the self-awareness of a socially isolated and often stigmatized population those bereaved by addiction. Writing about a traumatic event has been shown to increase self-awareness which can improve health and regulate negative behaviors. Using narrative analysis on the writing of individuals bereaved by addiction, this study found that participants were able to increase their self-awareness through writing to the dead, the living and themselves. Participants' writing also demonstrated their attempts to make sense and make meaning out of their loss which are both strong predictors of positive health outcomes. All participants in this study demonstrated increased self-awareness as well as sense-making and/or meaning-making which can lead to improvements in behavior regulation, psychological health and physical heath. This suggests that writing may be a uniquely beneficial therapeutic intervention for those experiencing disenfranchised grief as a result of bereavement by addiction.
