The main reason given for inappropriate termination was grant funding ended (86.0%). Fewer (16.4%) reported programs often or always continued that should have ended (inappropriate continuation). Higher perceived organizational supports for evidence-based decision making were associated with less frequent inappropriate continuation (odds ratio = 0.86, 95% confidence interval 0.79, 0.94). All organizational support factors were negatively associated with inappropriate continuation. Top reasons were sustained funding (55.6%) and support from policymakers (34.0%). CONCLUSIONS Organizational supports for evidence-based decision making may help local health departments avoid continuing programs that should end. Creative mechanisms of support are needed to avoid inappropriate termination. Understanding what influences mis-implementation can help identify supports for de-implementation of ineffective programs so resources can go towards evidence-based programs.OBJECTIVE This study aimed to determine the color, fat, viscosity, IgG concentration, %Brix and refractive index of fresh postpartum colostrum of German Holstein dairy cattle and assess the impact of different thermal treatments on the visual and dynamic viscosity, in association to IgG concentration, of colostrum that can be used for pasteurization process. RESULTS Of the total 40 fresh postpartum colostrum, the color of colostrum (ranging from white-pale yellow to yellow and dark-yellowish), fat (1.4-8.2 100 g-1), IgG (4-116 mg mL-1), %Brix (8.5-35.4%), refractive index (1.3454-1.3905 nD), visual (ranging from watery to liquid and thick) and dynamic (4.9-219 cp) viscosity, were recorded. Statistical analysis between visual and dynamic viscosity of fresh colostrum showed significant correlation coefficients (rs = 634). Moreover, a significant correlation between viscosity and three IgG concentrations was also observed. Heat-treated colostrum showed dynamic viscosity ranged from 25 to 3066 cP, where dynamic viscosity of colostrum before- and after heat-treatment showed no significant correlation. Treated colostrum at 60 °C/60 min and 63.5 °C/30 min containing IgG concentration ≤ 80 mg mL-1 and ≤ 68 mg mL-1 showed no significant change in the viscosity and can successfully be applied for pasteurization of first postpartum colostrum.OBJECTIVE Investigation of polypharmacy in patients with type 2 diabetes revealed that medications administered according to the patient's symptoms and complaints strongly contributed to polypharmacy. We explored the effects of clinical ward pharmacy service, which evaluated the need for symptomatic treatment, therefore minimizing polypharmacy by reducing inappropriate medications. RESULTS The number of drugs (hospitalization vs. discharge 9 [1-17] vs. 7 [1-16], P  less then  0.001) and rate of polypharmacy (hospitalization vs. discharge 75.4% vs. 61.1%, P  less then  0.001) were significantly lower at discharge. Since hospital admission, the number of drugs increased (n = 6, 11%), remained unchanged (n = 15, 28%), decreased by 1 drug (n = 4, 8%), decreased by 2 drugs (n = 3, 6%), and decreased by more than 2 drugs (n = 25, 47%). RESULTS Multivariate analysis showed no statistically significant correlation between visceral to subcutaneous ution to both the abdominal visceral and subcutaneous spaces.BACKGROUND While post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is defined by behavioral/cognitive symptoms most directly relevant to brain function, it can be considered a systemic disorder characterized by a distinct inability to reinstate homeostasis after trauma. METHODS In this study, we conducted a secondary analysis of gene expression profiles in key PTSD-relevant tissues, namely blood, amygdala, and hippocampus, from a rat model of PTSD, to identify sex-specific and shared processes associated with individual differences in response to recent trauma exposure. RESULTS Our findings suggest both shared and sex-specific mechanisms underlying individual differences associated with vulnerability and resilience to trauma in hippocampus, amygdala, and blood. By disentangling cell composition from transcriptional changes, we found higher proportions of hippocampal oligodendrocytes in the PTSD-like, extreme behavioral response (EBR) group for both sexes and also identified modules for transcriptional activity associatedlood, amygdala, and hippocampus suggests a common theme of upregulated wound healing and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling shared between sexes. In all, we identified differential oligodendrocyte proportions in hippocampus between PTSD-like EBR and resilient MBR, and identified processes and pathways that characterize the EBR and MBR-associated transcriptional changes across hippocampus, amygdala, and blood. The sex-specific mechanisms involved in EBR may contribute to the pronounced disparity in risk for PTSD, with women much more likely to develop PTSD.OBJECTIVE To determine the association between socioeconomic level, gender, stunting and other characteristics with the presence of overweight/obesity in the preschool children. RESULT BMI/Age Z score > + 2 SD was found in 19.5% of the children. It was more common among the children from areas with high socio-economic level (OR 2.43; 95% CI 1.54, 3.84, and p  + 2 SD. Thus male gender, high socioeconomic condition, increased duration of breast feeding and stunting were significantly associated with overweight/obesity in preschool children.
