Auxin Therapy Improves Anthocyanin Generation in the Non-Climacteric Fairly sweet Cherry (Prunus avium M.).
We could not examine other aspects of reliability and validity like test-retest reliability or criterion validity. We didn't use the gold-standard structured interview for PTSD in our study. Besides, most of our samples were young people who had access to the internet. Not all professional levels and seniorities were presented because our sample had a lower mean income and educational level.

Our study shows that the Chinese PCL-5 has good validity and reliability in frontline healthcare workers during the outbreak.

This study aims to explore the changes in functional neuroimaging in bipolar depression patients with anxiety symptoms (BDP-A).

Forty-five BDP-A patients, 22 bipolar depression patients without anxiety symptoms (BDP-NA), and 48 healthy controls (HC) were finally involved. The low-frequency oscillation characteristics, functional connectivity (FC), and network properties among the three groups of participants were analyzed.

Compared with the BDP-NA group, BDP-A patients exhibited significantly decreased amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF) in the left middle frontal gyrus (MFG), superior occipital gyrus, and inferior parietal, but supramarginal and angular gyri (IPL). Enhanced FC from left IPL to middle temporal gyrus, from left precentral gyrus (PreCG) to bilateral angular gyri, medial superior frontal gyrus, and left superior frontal gyrus (SFG)/MFG were also revealed. Compared with HC, the BDP-A group showed remarkably increased ALFF in the left MFG/PreCG, right superior parietal gyrus, while decreased ALFF in the left inferior frontal gyrus, opercular part, and SFG. In addition, higher regional homogeneity in the left MFG/PreCG was found.

The limitations are as follows (1) relatively small sample size; (2) not all the patients were drug-naive; (3) lack of pure anxiety disorder patients as a controlled group; (4) mental health conditions of HC were not systemic evaluated.

BDP-A patients showed significant differences in resting-state fMRI properties when compared with BDP-NA or HC group. These results may infer the dysfunction of the dorsal attention network, the default network, and the fronto-limbic system as well as disrupted brain network efficiency in BDP-A patients.

This study aimed at examining the impact of providing healthcare during health emergencies caused by viral epidemic outbreaks on healthcare workers' (HCWs) mental health; to identify factors associated with worse impact, and; to assess the available evidence base regarding interventions to reduce such impact.

Rapid systematic review. We searched MEDLINE, Embase, and PsycINFO (inception to August 2020). We pooled data using random-effects meta-analyses to estimate the prevalence of specific mental health problems, and used GRADE to ascertain the certainty of evidence.

We included 117 studies. The pooled prevalence was higher for acute stress disorder (40% (95%CI 39 to 41%)), followed by anxiety (30%, (30 to 31%)), burnout (28% (26 to 31%)), depression (24% (24 to 25%)), and post-traumatic stress disorder (13% (13 to 14%)). We identified factors associated with the likelihood of developing those problems, including sociodemographic (younger age and female gender), social (lack of social support, stigmatization), and occupational (working in a high-risk environment, specific occupational roles, and lower levels of specialised training and job experience) factors. Four studies reported interventions for frontline HCW two educational interventions increased confidence in pandemic self-efficacy and in interpersonal problems solving (very low certainty), whereas one multifaceted intervention improved anxiety, depression, and sleep quality (very low certainty).

We only searched three databases, and the initial screening was undertaken by a single reviewer.

Given the very limited evidence regarding the impact of interventions to tackle mental health problems in HCWs, the risk factors identified represent important targets for future interventions.

We have previously shown that transplantation of neural precursor cells (NPCs), or administration of a nanoformulation of pomegranate seed oil (Nano-PSO, GranaGard), into newborn asymptomatic TgMHu2ME199K mice modeling for E200K gCJD significantly delayed the advance of clinical disease. In the present study, we tested the individual and combined effects of both treatments in older and sick TgMHu2ME199K mice. We show that while transplantation of NPCs at both initial (140 days) and advance clinical states (230 days) arrested disease progression for about 30 days, after which scores rapidly climbed to those of untreated Tgs, administration of Nano-PSO to transplanted TgMHu2ME199K mice resulted in detention of disease advance for 60-80 days, followed by a slower disease progression thereafter. Pathological examinations demonstrated the combined treatment extended the survival of the transplanted NPCs, and also increased the generation of endogenous stem cells. Our results suggest that administration of Nano-PSO may increase the beneficial effects of NPCs transplantation.Aging is typically accompanied by both memory decline and changes in hippocampal function. Lasting memory is thought to also require recapitulation of recent memory traces during subsequent rest-a phenomenon termed memory trace reactivation or replay. Replay becomes less synchronized in the CA1 region of aged animals, and while subtle, this deficit may have profound physiological consequences for driving plasticity. Importantly, spike timing changes during replay may impair the induction of plasticity-regulating gene products, such as activity-regulated cytoskeletal protein (Arc). To test this hypothesis, Arc transcription was assessed both during spatial exploration and subsequent memory-related replay in hippocampal CA1 of young and aged animals. A significant age-related difference was observed in the pattern of pyramidal cells expressing Arc during rest, supporting the hypothesis that altered plasticity-related cascade is a major consequence of the changes in coordinated activity that occur during consolidation in older animals.
