Astrocyte transients were dependent on intense neuronal activity and constrained to regions near active synapses, ensuring close spatial and temporal coordination of neuron and astrocyte activity. The current study aimed to evaluate the trend of American cutaneous leishmaniasis cases in the municipality of Manaus, Amazonas-Brazil, and its relationship with climatic extremes (ENSO). The study was carried out using a series of secondary data from notifications on the occurrence of several American cutaneous leishmaniasis cases in the municipality of Manaus between 1990 and 2017 obtained through the Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação. Data regarding temperature, relative humidity, and precipitation for this municipality were derived from the Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia (INMET) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) websites. Coherence and wavelet phase analysis was conducted to measure the degree of relationship of the occurrence of the cases of cutaneous leishmaniasis and the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO). The results show that during La Niña events, an increase in American cutaneous leishmaniasis (ACL) cases is anticipated after the increase in rainfall from November, resulting in a more significant number of cases in January, February, and March. It was observed that in the municipality of Manaus, the dynamics of ACL cases are directly influenced by ENSO events that affect environmental variables such as precipitation, temperature, and humidity. Therefore, climatic variations consequently change the ACL incidence dynamics, leading to subsequent increases or decreases in the incidence of ACL cases in the area.

Clinically meaningful thresholds used for treatment adherent (≥3 treatment sessions during 2-year study) and non-adherent (≤2 sessions). Of the total population (N=730), 523 patients (71.6%) were treatment adherent with 5.3 (1.6; mean [SD]) sessions; 207 (28.4%) non-adherent with 1.5 (0.5). In the final model (n=626/730), 522 patients (83.4%) were treatment adherent, 104 (16.6%) were non-adherent. Baseline characteristics associated with adherence treated in Europe (OR1.84, CI1.06-3.21; P=0.03limb DAS pain subscale (OR0.40, CI0.19-0.83; P=0.015).

This study aimed to develop the computerized adaptive test of motor development (MD-CAT) in preschool children based on multidimensional Rasch analysis.

High correlation existed between the two subscales (r = 0.96). Three stopping rules were set for the MD-CAT (1) the person reliability achieved 0.95 or the limited reliability increased by < 0.01, (2) at least 3 items were assessed in each dimension, and (3) the number of items used for assessment reached 16. Based on the three stopping rules, the MD-CAT had high correlations with its total test length (r =0.87 to 0.98 for the two dimensions), indicating sufficient construct validity. The MD-CAT also had adequate diagnostic validity (area under the curve = 0.72-0.93) and efficiency (an average of 3 to 6 items used for the assessment).

The MD-CAT has high precision and efficiency, good construct validity and high diagnostic validity. The results of our study indicate that the MD-CAT can be useful in clinical practice and in research as a diagnostic measure.
