These results show that there are changes in the spinal cord microstructure of adults with CP. Ultimately, these microstructural changes play a role in the extent of the hand sensorimotor deficits seen in adults with CP.

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of evidenced-based psychological treatments (specifically, Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy for Eating Disorders [CBT-ED] and Maudsley Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults [MANTRA]) for a transdiagnostic eating disorder population in a routine clinical setting. In particular, it aimed to determine the extent to which treatment was provided in line with current clinical guidelines (NICE, 2017) and how effective treatment was in improving eating disorder and general psychopathology.

Three hundred and seventy-nine participants meeting criteria for DSM-5 anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder or other specified feeding or eating disorder completed pre- and posttreatment measures of eating disorder pathology and general distress. Clinicians recorded weight and episodes of bingeing and purging.

Ninety seven percent of participants received treatment in line with evidence-based psychotherapies. Treatment was completed by 59.9% of the whole sample. Using stringent criteria and ITT analysis 21.4% met criteria for remission at end of treatment. In the underweight sample, there was a significant increase in BMI, averaging 1.38 kg/m
over treatment, with similar outcomes for MANTRA and CBT-ED.

These findings, in a large transdiagnostic population, add to emerging literature on the translation of evidence-based psychotherapies to real-world clinical settings. Our results converge well with prior similar studies. Findings highlight the need for routine data collection in services and for the ongoing improvement of treatments for the eating disorders.

This cross-sectional study aimed to assess eating behavior traits in children with or without dental caries.

A sample of 580 children aged 8 years enrolled in 20 public schools in the city of Pelotas, Brazil were included. Parents/caregivers provided sociodemographic information and answered the Children's Eating Behavior Questionnaire (CEBQ) to assess eating behavior traits. This instrument possesses the subscales food responsiveness, enjoyment of food, satiety responsiveness, slowness in eating, food fussiness, emotional overeating, emotional undereating, and desire to drink. To assess the presence of decayed, missing or filled teeth (DMFT/dmft), the World Health Organization (WHO) criteria were adopted. WHO criteria were used to evaluate presence of overweight and obesity. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to compare the mean score in each CEBQ subscale according to the different exposure variables. Linear regression was used to assess the association between dental caries and CEBQ subscales means.or oral health.
The impact of female genital mutilation/cutting on obstetric outcomes in high-income countries is not clear. In general, women with female genital mutilation/cutting type 3 (infibulation) seem to be most at risk of adverse outcomes such as cesarean section. Deinfibulation is recommended to prevent obstetric complications. Whether the timing of this procedure affects the complication risk is not known. The aims of this study were, first, to examine the association between female genital mutilation/cutting and the risk of cesarean section in Norway, and, second, whether the timing of deinfibulation affected the cesarean section risk.

This was a historical cohort study of nulliparous Somali-born women who gave birth in Norway between 1990 and 2014. The Medical Birth Registry of Norway identified the women. Data were collected from medical records at 11 participating birth units. The exposures were female genital mutilation/cutting status and deinfibulation before pregnancy, during pregnancy, or no deinfibulanst cesarean section. Our findings indicate that nulliparous Somali women are at high risk of intrapartum complications. Future research should focus on measures to reduce maternal morbidity and on how timing of deinfibulation affects the outcomes of vaginal births.
High risk of cesarean section in Somali nulliparous women was not related to the type of female genital mutilation/cutting in the present study. Deinfibulation before labor did not protect against cesarean section. Our findings indicate that nulliparous Somali women are at high risk of intrapartum complications. Future research should focus on measures to reduce maternal morbidity and on how timing of deinfibulation affects the outcomes of vaginal births. We compared the performance of five assays for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) detection on nasopharyngeal swab samples Roche "cobas," Luminex "ARIES," MiRXES "Fortitude," Altona "RealStar," and Thermo Fisher Scientific "TaqPath." A total of 94 nasopharyngeal swab samples were obtained from 80 confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 cases in the first 2 weeks of illness (median, 7 days; range, 2-14 days) and 14 healthy controls. After collection, all samples were transported to the hospital clinical laboratory within 24 h. These samples were tested on all five assays within 3 days of sample receipt. click here Of the 94 samples, 69 yielded the same result on all platforms, resulting in an agreement of 73.4% (69 of 94). Of these, 14 were the healthy control swabs which all tested negative, demonstrating good specificity across all platforms. The ARIES assay had the lowest detection rate (68.8%), followed by Fortitude (85.0%), RealStar (86.3%), cobas (95.0%), and TaqPath (100%). Statistically significant differences were observed for ARIES, Fortitude, and RealStar when compared against the best performing TaqPath using McNemar's χ2 test.
