Thirty-four patients (23 males, 11 females) were enrolled in the study and all were available till final follow-up of mean 49.7 ± 14.9months. The mean age was 30.6 ± 7.9 (18-52years). Two patients had isolated medial sided lesions and 23 had associated ligament injuries. The mean follow up was 49.7 (24-72) months. The mean IKDC score improved from 58 ± 8.3 to 78.2 ± 9.5 (p < 0.001). Post-operatively there were 15 excellent, 11 good and 8 fair outcomes on Lysholm score. The mean pre-operative valgus side-to-side opening improved from 7.5 ± 2.5mm to 1.2 ± 0.7mm on stress radiography (p < 0.001).

Anatomic reconstruction of the superficial medial collateral and posterior oblique ligaments restore stability in a consistent manner cases of chronic grade 3 instability. The objective functional results, subjective outcomes and measures of static medial stability are satisfactory in the short term.

To evaluate the prevalence of and risk factors associated with anxiety, depression, and insomnia symptoms during the return-to-work period of coronavirus disease 2019 in China.

The authors conducted a large-scale, nationwide, multicenter, cross-sectional study in China. A population-based quota and snowball sampling were designed to recruit a representative sample. Online questionnaires and telephone reviews were used to collect characteristics and assess psychological and sleep problems. Anxiety, depression, and insomnia symptoms were measured by the generalized anxiety disorder-7, patient health questionnaire-9, and insomnia severity index tools.

A total of 42,000 participants were recruited from 15 centers, and 36,795 valid questionnaires were received. Generally, 18.3, 14.9, and 17.9% of the participants had anxiety, depression, and insomnia symptoms, respectively, and 2.2-2.7% had severe symptoms. Engaging in outside activity once in ≥ 30days (OR = 2.719, OR = 2.074, OR = 2.225) and age 50-64years (OR = 2.431, OR = 1.936, OR = 2.036) were common risk factors for anxiety, depression and insomnia symptoms. Living in Hubei Province (OR = 1.304, OR = 1.242) was a common risk factor for anxiety and insomnia symptoms. Working as frontline medical staff (OR = 2.150) was another risk factor for anxiety symptoms. The health education rate of the samples reached 98.9%. However, the psychological intervention rate was only 16.2%, and 2.5% received targeted interventions.

In contrast to global research, where physical comorbidity in psychotic disorders is established, only a few studies have been conducted in Southeast Asia. With a concerning trend of chronic physical illnesses emerging in adults below the age of 65, an investigation into comorbid chronic physical illnesses in adults diagnosed with psychotic disorders is necessary. This study aims to explore the risk factors, psychological functioning, and quality of life outcomes associated with comorbidity in adults below the age of 65, diagnosed with psychotic disorders, in a multi-ethnic non-Western setting.

Electronic medical records of 364 patients with psychotic disorders who had provided written consent to participate were screened for co-occurring physical conditions. The majority of participants were female (53.7%), Chinese (69%), single (74.5%), and had tertiary and above education (43%). They were approximately 35years old on average and the mean age of onset forpsychosis was 26.7years old.

To assess whether aggressive behavior and emotional problems from early childhood onwards are related to academic attainment at the end of primary education, and whether these associations are independent of attention problems.

Data on 2546 children participating in a longitudinal birth cohort in Rotterdam were analyzed. Aggressive behavior, attention and emotional problems at ages 1½, 3, 5 and 10years were assessed with the Child Behavior Checklist. Aggressive behavior from age 1½ to 10years was negatively associated with academic attainment, but these associations attenuated to non-significance when accounting for comorbid attention problems. The genus Paenibacillus is known for its biosynthetic potential and metabolic versatility in producing several secondary metabolites. In this study, we isolated Paenibacillus alvei strain JR949 from the soil, which exhibited antimicrobial activity against Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli (EPEC), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PAO1), and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The whole genome of this strain was sequenced using the Illumina platform. The genome mining of the draft genome sequence revealed a total of 31 biological gene clusters (BGCs) responsible for the synthesis of secondary metabolites. The construction of the similarity network of the BGCs and the comparative analysis with the genetically related strains aided the identification of metabolites produced by this strain.
