Buy a Category B+ Driving License Online
You'll need to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) to be able to become a trucker. There are a variety of CDLs which allow you to drive a specific type of vehicles.
Class B is a common kind of CDL that permits drivers to drive single vehicles that weigh 26,001 pounds or more and to haul trailers up to 10,000 lbs. Drivers can also earn endorsements to enhance their capabilities.
What is homesite ?
A Class B+ licence permits you to drive bigger vehicles and trailers compared to a normal car licence (category b). This is because those who have category B+ licences have passed an additional test and been "given" the greater B+E limit. The towing limit you are allowed to have is based on the date your B+E licence was issued by the government. Check out the following section under "Licence towing limits".
A Category B+ license is similar to the Commercial Driver's License (CDL). A Class A CDL permits you to drive multiple types of tractor trailers, trucks and large single vehicles. However, a Class B CDL only permits you to drive large single vehicles that have an GVWR of more than 26,000 pounds, and the towed vehicle weighs less than 10,000 pounds. This license is perfect for drivers who are looking to join the trucking industry but aren't yet old enough to get a Class A CDL.
The UK is one of one or two countries in the world that allows you to obtain a category B+ driving licence, so it is well worth a look in the event that you are considering moving to the UK and becoming a truck driver. However the British government has made a few modifications to the way they give out the category B+ licence and it is imperative that you check the gov website for further details. The changes mean that it's becoming more difficult to legally obtain a category B+ licence, but you'll still be able to pull your trailer to the maximum limit provided you pass your B+E test before the 19th of January, 2021. After this date, you will only be able to tow your trailer to a maximum weight of 3,500kg.
What are the prerequisites to get a Class B+ license?
To obtain a class B+ license you must meet the requirements of your state. These requirements differ by state however, they typically include an uncommercial driver's license as well as being in compliance with your state's age limit. You may also have to pass a drug test as well as a physical exam. You may also need to pass an oral exam and an exam for driving.
If you hold a category B license with code 96 or BE, you can drive a trailer and vehicle combination up to 3,500kg MAM (the maximum permitted mass of the combined vehicle and trailer). Find out the MAM of your vehicle and your trailer by examining Section 5 "Classification" on your vehicle registration certificate. If you are a holder of a category B license, without code 96 or BE, you can only drive trailers that weigh more than 750kg MAM.
Towing limits for drivers who passed the test for category B+E prior to 19th January 2013 are currently 3,500kg MAM for UK licence holders. The combined MAM for the car and trailer can't exceed 7,000kg. Only when the trailer and vehicle is registered in Norway or in another EEA state, and if the vehicles are specifically excluded by amendments to the registration certificate of the vehicle or by a category E licence certificate (which you can get from the DVLA) will this exception apply.
You are not able to obtain a full Category C1+E licence without passing the test for a medium-sized trailer or lorry. This includes passenger vans as well as small HAZMAT vehicles and HAZMAT vehicles with the necessary equipment to transport hazardous materials. Visit your local DVLA or look up the information about driving licences on the DVLA site to get more details. You could also be able to take practical driver training to prepare for this test. This could be done through an approved driver training institute by the state or privately.
What is the cost to get a Class B+ license?
A Class B+ license may be a good career choice for those looking to start in the trucking industry. It is crucial to remember that training programs can be costly and that states have specific fees for testing and licensing. To minimize the cost, you can select a CDL school that provides financial aid or tuition assistance for their students.
You can also save money by completing an ELDT online course prior to when you begin training. This will enable you to save time in a trucking school. This can also help reduce the cost of lodging near to a training institute and prevent new drivers from having to pay additional costs. C1 Truck Driver Training offers the ELDT as part of their program fee. The course can be completed online before arriving, saving the student a week of classroom instruction.
A Class B+ is a great opportunity to get into the industry and gain valuable work experience before attempting to apply for full-time jobs. However, it is essential to keep in mind that the vehicle must be a single vehicle that has a GVWR greater than 26,001 pounds and must not be tethered to a trailer. These vehicles are easy to drive for those with a Category A driving license. This makes them a great option for those who wish to spend more time at home and less time on the road.
Where can I get a Class B+ license?
A class B+ license can be obtained from your local DMV. If you're considering purchasing a brand new RV that is marketed as class B+, you can check online with the DMV to determine the type of vehicle will be registering (i.e. Class A, Class C or Class B). It may require additional documentation due to the added weight of the RV. You will also require evidence of your financial capacity to cover the EUR 75,000 guarantee.
