The current study aims to investigate the morphology and symmetry of root canals of mandibular second premolar teeth via Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) among a sample of the Saudi population.

A total of 1200 CBCT images were examined in the study. The number of roots in the mandibular second premolars was identified, and canal configurations were classified according to Vertucci classification. Bilateral symmetry and association between gender and number of roots and root canal configuration were investigated using a chi-square test was utilized for data analysis and p value was set at 0.05 for significance.

Of the total 2400 Mandibular second premolars, 98.33% were single rooted and 1.67% were double rooted. PY-60 datasheet The prevalence of double roots in females on the right side was significantly higher than that on the left side (p = 0.017), but the opposite was found among males. Only Type I and II canal configurations showed significant differences regarding gender and sides. 98.0% of teeth showed the symmetrical number of roots in both genders. The symmetry in canal configuration was 96.7% in males and 97.3% in females and 99.1% was Type I in both sides, 0.5% Type III, and 0.3% Type IV in both sides.

In this study, a polypeptide fusion strategy was applied to explore the capacity of elastin-like polypeptide (ELP) and γ-zein fusions in increasing the accumulation of the recombinant protein in soybean seeds. Transgenic soybean plants were generated to express the γ-zein- or ELP-fused green fluorescent protein (GFP) under the control of the soybean seed-specific promoter of β-conglycinin alpha subunit (BCSP). Significant differences were observed in the accumulation of zein-GFP and GFP-ELP from that of the unfused GFP in transgenic soybean seeds based on the total soluble protein (TSP), despite the low-copy of T-DNA insertions and similar expression at the mRNA levels in selected transgenic lines. The average levels of zein-GFP and GFP-ELP accumulated in immature seeds ofignificant influence on the total protein and oil content in soybean seeds.To analyze the impact of housing instability and social risk facts on food insecurity using resource center client information. We utilized 2-1-1 San Diego's client database to analyze the association of food insecurity and housing instability among residents from August 2017 to March 2020. 3468 clients had food or housing needs assessed by a risk rating scale. A multiple logistic regression model analyzed the associations between food insecurity and social risk factors including housing, transportation, utility bills, criminal justice, and medical debt. Multiple logistic regression indicates that those with housing instability encounter significantly greater risk of food insecurity (AOR 1.2) for homeless-sheltered, (AOR 2.1) for homeless-unsheltered. Also, utility needs (AOR 1.2) is significantly associated with food insecurity. However, those with medical debt are 48% less likely to have food insecurity. Approximately 77% of clients experienced food insecurity. Those with food insecurity also experienced higher needs in housing and other social risk factors. By further researching the association of food insecurity, housing instability, and other social needs in a population, we can better inform public health strategies that focus on proactive community and resource planning.African American men living with HIV are at high risk of colorectal cancer (CRC). Screening to detect CRC is associated with a reduced risk of CRC mortality. However, little is known about CRC screening predictors in this population. This study examined the relation of self-efficacy, a potential mediator of screening that interventions could target, to CRC screening. It also investigated several variables that might identify subpopulations of African American men non-adherent to CRC screening recommendations. We report a secondary analysis on baseline data from a randomized controlled trial of a health promotion intervention for African American men living with HIV. Before their intervention, they completed measures of CRC screening, self-efficacy, marital status, age, education, and adherence to physical activity guidelines and were assessed for obesity. A total of 270 African American men aged 45 to 88 (Mean = 55.07; SD = 6.46) living with HIV participated. About 30% reported CRC screening in the past six months.
