Our data suggest the role of ZnO-NPs cream to reduce the risk of lead dermal exposure via preventing absorption and accumulation of it in the internal organs so that it protects these organs from further damage. In the Qaidam Basin, meteorological stations are sparsely distributed, and the observational precipitation data are therefore not comprehensive, which significantly hampers the accurate assessment and optimal allocation of regional water resources. This study aims to evaluate the accuracy of three precipitation products (MSWEP V2, GPM IMERG V6, and TRMM 3B43) against gauged-based precipitation data from nine meteorological stations and 12 hydrologic stations in the Qaidam Basin from 2001 to 2016. The results reveal the following (1) At the annual and monthly scales, the MSWEP product has the highest accuracy, followed by the GPM product. However, the TRMM product only reveals a correlation at the monthly scale; (2) the MSWEP product performs better in the wet season than the dry season, and the TRMM product has an abnormally high value of precipitation in the wet season. Moreover, it was shown that the accuracy of the GPM product is superior to that of the TRMM product; however, it has a low detection capability in some mountainous areas; and (3) the average error of each precipitation product at the meteorological stations is smaller than that at the hydrological stations.Cadmium (Cd) pollution in cultivated soils has posed a great risk to human health through the soil-plant-human pathway. Therefore, it is important to derive soil thresholds for the low-Cd accumulating genotype of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) to promote its application in agricultural production on Cd-contaminated sites. Here, a pot experiment was performed to explore the transfer characteristics of Cd in two contrasting wheat genotypes at three different soils and the effect of soil parameters together with soil safety Cd thresholds derivation. Generally, grain Cd highly accumulating wheat genotype (Zhenmai10, HT) showed higher Cd accumulation in grains than grain Cd weakly accumulating wheat genotype (Aikang58, LT). Stepwise multiple linear regression (SMLR) analysis (log-transformed Freundlich-type) indicated that Cd accumulation in wheat grains was strongly related to soil total Cd concentration and pH for both genotypes (R2 = 0.907*** for HT; R2 = 0.910*** for LT). Combining the simple regression model of soil-plant transfer system with the risk assessment method based on human health, soil total Cd thresholds for three soils were calculated with the values of 0.62, 0.82, and 0.62 mg kg-1 in LT genotype and 0.31, 0.77, and 0.49 mg kg-1 in HT genotype. Therefore, we suggested that when deducing soil thresholds, the ability of wheat genotypes to accumulate Cd and soil properties should be considered because of the large differences in soil thresholds between different genotypes and types of soils. We believe our results will promote the application of low-Cd wheat genotypes to agricultural production, thereby ensuring the safety of their products. In this research, a novel composite is synthesized based on activated carbon and MIL-53(Al) through the solution mixing method at different MOF weight fractions, and the CO2 loading of prepared samples are measured in the batch and continuous apparatus. The structure, crystallinity, surface area, and chemical functionality of activated carbon, MIL-53(Al), and developed composite are characterized through BET, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The CO2 and N2 adsorption capacity of activated carbon, MIL-53(Al), and composites are examined in an isothermal batch reactor at the pressure range 0-110 kPa and equilibrium temperature 305 K. The adsorption isotherm of CO2 is correlated by the Langmuir and Toth models. Besides, the performance of composite is compared with MIL-53(Al) and activated carbon in a continuous packed bed at flow rate range 15-25 ml min-1 and temperature 32 °C, and the breakthrough curves are developed. The results show that increasing MOF content in the composite increases CO2 adsorption capacity, so the CO2 loading of synthesized composite containing 10%, 20%, and 30% MOF is 1.608, 1.704, and 1.792 mmol gr-1, respectively.Aflatoxins are one of the major environmental contaminants in animal feed and pose a potential threat to human health due to their secretion in the milk of lactating animals. The present study was conducted with the objectives to determine the occurrence of aflatoxins (B1, B2, G1, and G2) in dairy animal concentrate feed and to evaluate the effect of season, spatial variation, and dairy farm size on the levels of aflatoxins contamination. A total of 189 dairy animal concentrate feed samples were tested for aflatoxins with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) as screening and high-performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection (HPLC-FLD) as confirmatory techniques. Of the total, 59% feed samples were found positive for aflatoxins, while 44% samples were detected with total aflatoxins levels higher than the tolerance limit established by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and 58% samples were found with aflatoxins B1 (AFB1) levels above the European Commission (EC) legal limit. selleck chemical AFB1 levels in dairy animal concentrate feed were found significantly higher during rainy (41.6 μg kg-1) and winter (35.9 μg kg-1) seasons as compared to the summer season (25.5 μg kg-1). The theoretical extrapolation of the AFB1 carry-over from animal feed to milk (aflatoxins M1) in different seasons may lead to 50-100% contamination of milk at levels above the EC tolerance limit. The incidence and levels of aflatoxins especially AFB1 in animal feed, not only pose a direct effect on animals but may also pose a concern for food safety in relation to the occurrence of aflatoxins M1 in milk. Therefore, continuous surveillance of aflatoxins in dairy animal feeds is required to reduce animal and consequently human exposure. It is well established that pretreatment of lignocellulosic biomass is required to achieve an effective enzymatic saccharification process. At the present time, most of the touted pre-treatment technologies would cause environmental pollution and unsustainable water use for the pretreated material prior to enzymatic saccharification. To address these shortcomings, the pretreatment technology which combines the supercritical CO2, SC-CO2 (a green solvent), acetic acid, and steam explosion was used to assess the pretreatment of wheat straw for enzymatic saccharification. The effects of solvent concentration, impregnation temperature and time, pre-treatment time, and temperature, as well as SC-CO2 pressure, contact time, and temperature, were evaluated. The results identified that at the optimum SC-CO2 pressure of 18 MPa, the highest amount of reducing sugars (RS) was produced from the cellulosic pulp using Acetic acid/Steam/SC-CO2 at 200 °C for 30 min, a value 20% more than the pulp produced with the Water/Steam/SC-CO2.
