More often, they are associated with non-specific symptoms such as early satiety, nausea or vomiting. Gastrointestinal bleeding is the most dangerous complication, often necessitating emergency surgery. The purpose of this case report is to describe our experience in the management of a young patient with gastrointestinal bleeding caused by an unknown voluminous retroperitoneal GIST with metastatic progression using a combined endovascular embolization and debulking-surgery approach for emergency and imatinib therapy combined with radiofrequency for the oncological approach. GIST requires multidisciplinary management, which improves both prognosis and quality of life.Thymomas are usually tumors with a good prognosis but with potential to invade nearby structures. We report a case of a 56-year-old woman previously diagnosed with an invasive thymoma that came to the emergence room with symptoms of acute coronary syndrome. After a coronary computed tomography angiography, it was seen that the tumor was invading the myocardial and it was irrigated by the left circumflex coronary and its branches. Considering her poor prognosis, it was decided not to make further interventions. This case highlights a unique and rare case of an unresectable thymoma that was invading the myocardium and it was irrigated by the left circumflex coronary and its branches, causing typical angina due to compromised coronary blood flow by the mass causing ischemia.Anterior endoscopic cervical discectomy (AECD) using laser and micro forceps for cervical intervertebral disc herniation has been considered as an effective treatment modality in selected cases. However, several spine surgeons are concerned about the adverse outcomes of discectomy without fusion, such as postoperative instability, disc space narrowing, and segmental kyphosis. We report two cases of AECD that was performed 19 and 21 years ago. First case was a 44-year-old female with C56 cervical soft disc rupture and second case was a 42-year-old male with C67 cervical soft disc rupture. SR1antagonist These patients suffered from cervical intervertebral disc herniation and underwent AECD. The surgical method followed the general AECD method that removed selectively-ruptured particle only. In both cases, the symptoms improved after AECD, and these patients did not experience any problems until recently. Good clinical results have been shown over the long-term, as seen in the two cases described here. In the radiological evaluation, it was confirmed that the postoperative level was stable and disc height was preserved. Furthermore, sagittal alignment and segmental motion of the cervical vertebra were both maintained. In these two cases, disc height was insignificantly different before and after surgery over a long period. Thus, AECD provides good results, even in long-term follow-up, without acceleration of disc degeneration.Breast cancer is the most common cause of chest wall recurrence, skin, and subcutaneous tissue metastases which mainly occur as multiple nodes in the skin and subcutaneous tissue. This condition can be congenital or acquired. The clinical treatment of genital lymphedema involves compression mechanisms of the penis. In acquired cases, the individual is born with the lymphatic system intact, but this system is damaged at some point in life, which can lead to lymphatic insufficiency and the development of edema. The non-elastic material for the penis is grosgrain that enable the adjustment to the proper pressure. This report describes a case series of penile lymphedema treated with compression mechanism. Thirteen consecutive patients with penoscrotal lymphedema aged 22 to 56 years (mean 42.3 years) were treated. Inclusion criteria were patients with primary and secondary penoscrotal lymphedema. Volume larger than three times the normal size of the scrotum was excluded. Reductions in edema occurred in the penis in all patients. Such reductions varied in accordance with the adherence of the patients to the use and duration of compression. The patients used the compression device at times that best fit their schedules. An interesting aspect was the fact that the patients reported the possibility of leaving the penis the size they wished-neither very small nor very large-for sexual activity. All were able to control the size of the edema within the standards they considered acceptable.Atypical headaches are uncommon and require special consideration by a primary care physician. We report the case of a 37-year-old male, who presented to the family medicine practice with persistent headaches which subsided postprandial and was later hospitalized for stroke-like symptoms. The lumbar puncture (LP) suggested viral etiology; however, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) yielded no evidence of a specific virus. The patient computed tomography (CT) was non-diagnostic and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) confirmed no acute intracranial abnormalities. Electroencephalogram (EEG) showed no definite epileptiform discharges, electrographic seizures, or evidence of non-convulsive status epilepticus. He was started empirically on intravenous (IV) acyclovir 800 mg Q6 for 10 days, followed by another 10 days of oral valacyclovir 500 mg twice a day (BID) antivirals leading to a complete resolution of his symptoms and confirming the diagnosis as viral encephalitis. This case is unique in its presentation due to the postprandial resolution of the patient's headache with no evidence of a specific virus in the CSF.
