People's posting behaviors in social networks was perceived as ambiguous, with concerns misaligned with people's public postings. To address this gap, we suggest a model that offers new insights into the relationship between perceptions and actual behaviors. We define a quantitative marker for agility, the frequency in which people update their audience selection when posting information in online social networks, and evaluate the factors that contribute to the variability of agility between different users. We analyzed the posting behavior of Facebook 181 participants, as well as their answers to open and close questions. We find that frequent changes in privacy settings are correlated with high social privacy and with institutional privacy concerns, whereas social concerns were found to be more prominent. Agility was negatively correlated with low public sharing. Our findings show that users use privacy settings to effectively mitigate privacy concerns and desires for creating and strengthening social connections. We discuss how agility can be used to design and to evaluate new user interfaces for managing privacy in social settings. © 2020 Published by Elsevier Ltd.Juice produced from the leaves of Justicia secunda is claimed to have potentials for treating anemia but is highly perishable while the production conditions are not yet mastered. Meanwhile in juice production from fruits or vegetables, key processing steps include extraction and pasteurization which are usually carried out separately with an attendant consequence on the production cost. This work was aimed at combining these unit operations in order serve time and energy. The effect of Conventional Extraction followed by Pasteurization (CEP) in comparison with Simultaneous Extraction and Pasteurization (SEPA) on the Vitamin C content of the juice was investigated. Kinetic models indicated that, the variation of Vitamin C occurred in two phases; a first phase corresponding to the accumulation of Vitamin C in the extraction medium and a second phase corresponding to its degradation. Average Vitamin C in the juice from the SEPA process was significantly greater than that from the CEP process. Major gains from the SEPA process include gain in energy, reduction in processing times and higher retention of Vitamin C in the juice. © 2020 The Authors.Nowadays, online or distance learning postgraduate schools program the academic period in different sequentially developed modules. This article assesses the impact of the programming of short-term university courses (30-60 days) on the frequency and quality of interaction when communication takes place through mobile technologies. Frequency corresponded to the messages generated by actors in learning environments, and quality was quantified using a scale of interaction levels operated by assessing the content of the messages issued by the actors. Results revealed that there is no correlation between interaction and academic performance in short-term courses. Additionally, a downward trend was observed in the number of individuals involved and in the frequency and quality of interaction throughout the course. © 2020 The Authors.In this work, decoration of the graphene surface with 5 wt. % ZnO nanorods (ZnO NRs), to ensure the potential photocatalytic performance of the formed nanocomposites, is demonstrated. Graphene oxide (GO) was synthesized with Hummer method followed by reduction to give reduced graphene oxide (RGO). The adjustable nano-compositing exhibited long-sought workability not only in in-situ incorporation of nanorods while reduction of graphene oxide (IZG) but also in ex-situ mixing of RGO or GO with the nanorods, (EZG) and (ZGO) respectively. The demineralization of synthetic wastewater has been evaluated by chemical oxygen demand and the obtained nanocomposites possess enhanced photocatalytic activities with 30 % and 35% over pure RGO and GO, respectively. This higher efficiency could be attributed to the synergistic effect between ZnO and the planner structure of graphene sheets which developed unprecedented polycrystalline structure. Also, the results proved that even the RGO or GO have played a dual function in photocatalysis, adsorption, and degradation. Also, the bactericidal effect of the prepared samples was studied against deleterious microorganisms. The findings of this work pave the way for the new generation of highly efficient photocatalysts based graphene with economic attraction and environmental impact. © 2020 The Author(s).Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by progressive decline in cognitive function. Intracerebroventricular injection of streptozotocin (icv-STZ) has been used as an experimental model of Sporadic AD (SAD) in rodents and represents a promising tool for etiopathogenic analysis and evaluation of new therapeutic proposals for AD. The icv-STZ model shows many aspects of SAD abnormalities, resulting in decreased brain glucose and energy metabolism, cognitive impairment, oxidative stress, neuronal loss, and amyloid angiopathy. Royal jelly (RJ), a substance produced by worker honeybees of the Apis mellifera species, has been popularly used for more than 30 years in areas related to health eating and natural medicine. Researches indicate that RJ has a several pharmacological activities, including neuroprotective and improvement of cognitive function. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of oral treatment with royal jelly during 2 weeks in Wistar rats submitted to icv-STZ on a working memory and neuroprotection, as evaluated by neurogenesis, neurodegeneration and oxidative stress. In this study, icv-STZ injection induced deleterious effects in the hippocampus, associated with cognitive impairments, and developed marked neurodegeneration, besides the reduction of neurogenesis and increased oxidative stress. FLT3-IN-3 clinical trial On the other hand, RJ long-term oral administration induced beneficial effects in animals injured by icv-STZ injection, increasing retention time for working spatial memory, reducing neurodegeneration and oxidative stress level and increasing the proliferation of new neurons in the hippocampus. Thus, RJ promotes beneficial effects on cognitive functions and exhibits a neuroprotective action in the STZ experimental model of SAD. © 2020 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
