Fifteen species included in the Maera-clade occur in Japan. The Florida State Collection of Arthropods (FSCA) ranks in the top 10 largest Coleoptera collections in the United States of America with in excess of 1.5 million pinned beetles and significant amounts of materials in bulk collections and other unprocessed samples. The suborder Adephaga currently comprises approximately 34,000 species in 10 extant families and the suborder Myxophaga contains approximately 94 species in four extant families. The FSCA owns type material in the adephagan families Carabidae, Dytiscidae, Gyrinidae, Haliplidae, and Noteridae. The myxophagan holdings in the FSCA include type material from the families Hydroscaphidae and Lepiceridae. There were no holdings of type material in the suborder Archostemata at FSCA. This catalogue documents the FSCA type material for 253 species in 80 genera across the two suborders. ASP2215 A total of 3,528 type specimens are reported, including 60 holotypes, 36 allotypes, 3,426 paratypes, and six syntypes. The occurrence of different sponge species bearing the same Linnean binomial name combination, i.e. homonyms, is to be avoided for obvious reasons. In a review of sponge taxon names of the World Porifera Database, we detected 121 homonymic cases (115 species-group names, 6 genus-group names), involving a total of 272 nominal taxa. It is the object of the present study to remove their occurrence by proposing new names for the junior homonyms following the rules of the International Commission of Zoological Nomenclature as laid down in the Code (ICZN, 1999) and the on-line edition http//iczn.org/iczn/index.jsp . Homonym cases are discussed and, where applicable, junior homonyms are either replaced by nomina nova or reassigned to their earliest available synonyms. The order in which the homonyms are treated is alphabetical on original species name, with genus names separately treated at the end. A summary table with all proposed name changes is also presented to allow quick access to the junior homonyms and their proposed new names. A total of 116 nomina nova are proposed, including five new genus names. The genus Hemidactylus in Angola is represented by six species, all of them part of taxonomically and nomenclaturally challenging species complexes. We present a detailed taxonomic revision of the group in the region and describe two new species, Hemidactylus nzingae sp. nov. and Hemidactylus paivae sp. nov., both occuring in and potentially endemic to the highlands of Angola. Phylogenetic analysis using a combination of mitochondrial (ND2) and nuclear (MXRA5, PDC, RAG1) markers, as well as morphological and scalation data support the recognition of the new species. In addition, data support the revalidation of Hemidactylus bayonii Bocage, 1893, and Hemidactylus benguellensis Bocage, 1893. We also provide a redefinition of Hemidactylus longicephalus Bocage, 1873 with which we synonymize Hemidactylus mabouia molleri Bedriaga, 1892, from São Tomé in the Gulf of Guinea. Given that the type material of H. bayonii, H. benguellensis, H. longicephalus and H. mabouia molleri have all been lost or destroyed, we designate neotypes for all of these nomina for purposes of nomenclatural stability. The description of the new species and the revision and revalidation of the Angolan species already described contributes to a better understanding of the taxonomy and biogeography of West and Central African Hemidactylus, as well as to the general biogeographic and evolutionary patterns of Angolan fauna. A key to the Angolan species is also presented. The genus Xya Latreille, 1808 obtains 58 known species in the world, among them 18 species distributed in Asia and 8 species in China only i.e. Xya japonica (Haan, 1842), Xya riparia (Saussure, 1877), Xya nitobei (Shiraki, 1911), Xya apicicornis (Chopard, 1928), Xya manchurei Shiraki, 1936, Xya lehsanensis Cao et al, 2017, Xya sichuanensis Cao et al, 2018, Xya shandongensis, Zhang et al, 2018; [Latreille, 1809; Haan, 1844; Walker, 1871; Saussure, 1877, 1896; Brunner von Wattenwyl. 1893; Bolivar, 1900(1899); Shiraki,1911, 1936; Chopard, 1920, 1928, 1936, 1968; Tindale, 1928; Willemse, 1954; Bey-Bienko, 1967; Harz, 1970, 1971; Günther, 1974, 1978, 1980, 1982, 1990, 1995, 1998; Ingrisch, 1987, 2006; Baehr, 1988; Yin et al, 1996; Murai, 2005; Yin et al, 2013; Heads Hollier, 2016; Kuravova Kocarek, 2016; Cao et al, 2017; Cao et al, 2018; Zhang et al, 2018; Cigliano, et al, 2019]. In the present paper, a new species of the genus Xya Latreille, 1809 from Fujian, China is described. The new species Xya fujianensis sp. nov. is similar to Xya lehsanensis Cao et al, 2017, but differs from the latter by head black, with a yellow band along inner margin of eye; pronotum black, with a white band on the lower margin; fore wing black, with two yellow spots near base and two yellow spots near top and hind femur black with two large yellow spots on upper side. Type specimens are deposited in the College of Life Science, Leshan Normal University, Leshan 614004, China.Aenigmaphes gen. n. is described for a New Guinean Aenigmaphes papuanus sp. n. The new genus is characterized by several unique features, among others, by the pronotum with one pair of adjacent antebasal pits at middle, both situated in a deep median longitudinal groove, and the posterior margin of each mesocoxal rest demarcated by a step-wise ridge, which extends laterad and is bent posterad to connect with the lateral metaventral margin far behind the mesocoxae. The adult of the new species is minute, wingless and microphthalmous, which may be adaptations to subterranean life. Females of an undescribed species of Aenigmaphes are also recorded from Sulawesi. Relationships of the new genus within Glandulariini remain unclear.Examination of the type specimen of the Neotropical Eumicrus deplanatus Schaufuss, as well as material newly collected in Venezuela, allowed for clarifying the systematic placement of this enigmatic species. It is not a member of Scydmaenus Latreille or Euconnus Thomson, genera in which it was placed by previous authors, but belongs in Sciacharis Broun. Sciacharis (Palaeoconnus) deplanatus comb. n. is established, and the species is redescribed. For the first time males are reported, and the aedeagus, crucial for species identification, is illustrated.
