The latest American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)/College of American Pathologists (CAP) guideline has updated the interpretation of uncommon human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) in situ hybridization (ISH) patterns (groups 2-4) with concomitant HER2 immunohistochemistry, leading to changes in the diagnosis of these subgroups. We sought to assess the clinicopathological features and outcomes in these subgroups in detail with our local cohort.

Clinicopathologic features of groups 2 to 4 were compared to the typical amplified group (group 1 HER2/CEP17 ≥ 2, HER2 ≥ 4) and non-amplified group (group 5 HER2/CEP17 < 2, HER2 < 4).

Group 2 (HER2/CEP17 ≥ 2, HER2 < 4) cases showed lower Ki67 expression and grade (P ≤ .002) than group 1 but no differences compared with group 5. Group 4 (HER2/CEP17 < 2, HER2=4-6) cases were associated with less necrosis, more estrogen receptor positivity, lower grade, more nodal metastases, and more special histotypes (P ≤ .037) than group 1, but higher comes of these patients with different management approaches.
Breast cancer is the most common malignant tumor in women and is not easy to diagnose. Increasing evidence has underscored that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play important regulatory roles in the occurrence and progression of many cancers, including breast cancer. We aimed to identify lncRNAs in plasma as potential biomarkers for breast cancer.

We analyzed the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) datasets GSE22820, GSE42568, and GSE65194 to identify the common differential genes between cancer tissues and adjacent tissues. Then 14 lncRNAs were identified among the common differential genes and validated by using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction in 92 patients with breast cancer and 100 healthy controls. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were constructed to evaluate their diagnostic value for breast cancer.

Integrated analysis of the GEO datasets identified three significantly upregulated and 11 downregulated lncRNAs in breast cancer tissues. Compared with healthy controls, MIAT was significantly upregulated in breast cancer patient plasma, and LINC00968 and LINC01140 were significantly downregulated. ROC curve analysis suggested that these three lncRNAs can discriminate breast cancer from healthy individual with high specificity and sensitivity.

180 patients were randomly divided into two groups a lateral supraclavicular approach and a conventional transcervical approach. The main outcomes included incision length, intraoperative blood loss, operative time, total drainage volume, hospitalization expense, early postoperative pain measured by visual analog scale, infection, and perceived cosmetic outcome.

There were no statistical significances between the two groups in terms of age, gender, nodule size, intraoperative blood loss, operative time, total drainage volume, hospital expense and postoperative complications, whereas there were significant differences in terms of incision length (5.2±1.04cm vs. 6.9±1.14cm, p<0.05).

Considering that approximately 75% of active pharmacists work in a community pharmacy globally, experiential practice in community pharmacies is a crucial part of pharmacy education. Skilled preceptors and their perceptions are integral to experiential practice. However, the perception of community pharmacy preceptors on a nationwide level is rarely studied.

To examine the perception of community pharmacy preceptors who had undertaken the newly implemented community pharmacy experiential practice in South Korea.

This study was based on a self-administered, nationwide, online cross-sectional survey performed by the Korean Pharmaceutical Association in 2017. Active community pharmacy preceptors undertaking experiential practice in South Korea were enrolled. The preceptor's competence, satisfaction, stress, achievement, and the likelihood of continuing preceptorship were evaluated using a 4-point Likert scale. In addition, the determinants of perception were evaluated using multivariate logistic regressiona basis for improving the quality of training at community pharmacies and may aid experiential practice administrators in revising the current program.
