Purpose The role of Lnc_OC1 in gastric cancer (GC) has not been well documented. The very purpose of the present study was to determine not only the expression of Lnc_OC1 in gastric tissues but also its role in the formation of GC. Furthermore, the expression levels of Lnc-OC1 were examined in H. pylori-positive versus H. pylori-negative GC tissues. Methods Tumor and adjacent normal tissues were collected from 43 patients with GC. RNA extraction and cDNA synthesis were performed. Then, qRT-PCR was carried out. Finally, an independent sample t test was run to examine the expression level of Lnc_OC1 in a GC and normal tissues using SPSS program. Results The results revealed a significantly higher expression level of Lnc_OC1 in the GC tissues as compared with the normal tissues (p = 0.0037). The correlations between the expression level of Lnc_OC1 and the clinical features of patients were not statistically significant (p > 0.05). Moreover, the expression of Lnc-OC1 was significantly higher in H. pylori-positive patients as compared with H. pylori-negative patients (p = 0.01). Conclusion The findings of the present study revealed that deregulation of Lnc_OC1 may have a role in the H. pylori-associated pathogenesis of GC. Moreover, a direct association can be speculated between GC formation and Lnc_OC1 expression. The mentioned findings highlight the potential role of Lnc_OC1 as a prognostic biomarker of GC. Hence, further evaluations are required in this respect.Oral systemic therapies are important treatment options for patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis, either as monotherapy or in therapy-recalcitrant cases as combination therapy with phototherapy, other oral systemics or biologics. The primary aim of this comprehensive literature review was to examine the long-term safety profiles of oral agents commonly used in the treatment of adults with psoriasis. Searches were conducted in EMBASE and PubMed up to November 2018, and 157 relevant publications were included. Average particle size of sesame oil nanoemulsion without (SONE) and containing levofloxacin (SONEL) was found as 25.2 and 26.3 nm, respectively. Results from scratch test showed that SONEL had better proliferation effect in comparison with negative control. Treated animals with SONEL showed significant reduction in period of epithelialization, wound contraction, and number of inflammatory cells among all groups. Also, SONEL-treated group had the greatest collagen synthesis. Immunohistochemical analysis showed high intensity of CD31 and TGF-β at wound site of treatment groups with SONEL on day 12 post-treatment (P less then 0.05). Skin irritation test demonstrated safety of SONEL gel for skin topical application. In conclusion, our studies suggest that SONEL could be an effective formulation for treatment of diabetic wound infection by controlling infection and improving the healing process. Recent findings A range of associations of varying degree were noted between pediatric migraine and conditions such as ADHD, learning disabilities, sleep disorders, and psychiatric comorbidities with regard to headache pain and school functioning. Recent literature highlights the importance of sleep in relation to headache, mood disorders, and learning in youth and the emerging role of perfectionism. Children with migraine remain at risk for school related and learning difficulties which may be primarily due to pain, due to other medical and psychiatric comorbidities commonly found in this population, or a combination. The relationships are complex and further studies are needed to clearly elucidate the shared biological and environmental pathophysiologic mechanisms.Transgenic therapy for central neuralgia faces the problems of low expression and weak targeting and affects superficial but not deep neurons. In this study, we generated a lentivirus vector with human preproenkephalin gene (hPPE) expression driven by the transcriptional amplification strategy system (TAS) and established a primary bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cell (BMSC) line stably expressing hPPE for transplantation into a rat model of neuropathic pain rat. The paw thermal withdrawal latency assay and paw mechanical withdrawal threshold assay showed that unlike control BMSCs and BMSCs with hPPE overexpression driven by the CMV or Synapsin 1 (SYN1) promoter, TAS-hPPE BMSCs had a robust and lasting analgesic effect. The TAS-hPPE BMSC-treated group exhibited higher expression of TAS-driven hPPE and a higher ratio of BMSCs in the midbrain, spinal cord and cortex then the CMV-hPPE BMSC- and SYN1-hPPE BMSC-treated groups. Moreover, we also observed that TAS-hPPE BMSCs displayed a greater tendency to differentiate into neurons and exhibit neuronal-like distribution than CMV-hPPE or SYN1-hPPE BMSCs. In conclusion, our study shows that the TAS improves BMSC transgenic therapy for neuropathic pain treatment.Background The results of total hip arthroplasty (THA) with use of Delta ceramic articulation were successful at medium term follow-up. The use of this newest ceramic has markedly reduced the incidence of ceramic head fractures, but not the incidence of ceramic liner fractures. We tested a hypothesis that the ceramic fractures are prevented by use of a metal shell with 18° inner taper angle and a stem design with a reduced neck geometry. Methods We conducted a prospective multicenter study of cementless THA with use of 32/36-mm Delta ceramic bearing, Exceed ABT metal shell and Taperloc stem. We evaluated ceramic fracture, noise, clinical results, radiological changes and survival rate at a minimum of 5-year follow-up. Results From April 2010 to February 2012, 246 patients (274 THAs) were enrolled. Among them, 224 patients (130 men and 94 women, 250 hips) were followed-up for 5-8 years (mean 6.0 years). Ceramic malseating or fracture did not occur in any patient. Eight patients (8 hips, 3.2%) reported noise. Mean Harris hip score was 84 points at the latest follow-up.
