Egg-shell calcification is rare in cases with constrictive pericarditis. It leads to significant right heart failure and the only treatment is surgical excision of the pericardium. This case shows that a common diagnostic test such as a chest X-ray does help to diagnose a severe systemic condition.Intravenous thrombolysis with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA) is the first effective approved treatment for reducing ischemic stroke disability, and having a stroke within 3 months is usually a contraindication to thrombolysis. In this paper, we describe the case of a 58-year-old patient who received repeated intravenous thrombolysis at 10 days interval for a recurrent ischemic stroke, with dramatic improvement. The carotid diaphragm was behind this recurrent stroke and it was treated by stenting.Intracranial vessel dissection is a procedural complication associated with endovascular treatment. However, there have been few reports on its potential causes and management during mechanical thrombectomy. In approximately 250 cases of mechanical thrombectomy over the past 5 years at our institution, iatrogenic intracranial dissection occurred in 2 patients (0.8%). In this report, we described these 2 cases that were rescued through emergent stenting. Mechanical thrombectomy, using both a stent retriever and an aspiration catheter, was performed for acute middle cerebral artery M2 occlusion in Patient 1 (a 69-year-old man) and for distal M1 occlusion in Patient 2 (an 83-year-old woman). In both cases, recanalization was achieved with the procedure, but irregular stenosis developed at the initially nonoccluded, but mildly arteriosclerotic, M1, after recanalization. During the thrombectomy procedure, the aspiration catheter sifted up to the arteriosclerotic M1. In both cases, the lesions were considered vessel dissection, due to a shift of the aspiration catheter tip into the arteriosclerotic vessel wall. Repeated percutaneous angiography with antithrombotic therapy failed to improve the lesions and to maintain the antegrade blood flow. Finally, lesions in each patient were successfully rescued through the use of emergent stenting. A drug-eluting stent for coronary use was deployed in Patient 1, and an Enterprise stent was applied in Patient 2. Inadvertent shift of the aspiration catheter into arteriosclerotic vessels can cause a serious intracranial vessel dissection. When performing mechanical thrombectomy, intracranial stents need to be available as rescue treatment devices to manage refractory iatrogenic intracranial vessel dissection.Right-sided heart failure is a common sequela of left heart failure and seldom presents as a primary disorder. Her HAPA-related retroperitoneal hematoma had resulted in portal vein compression, thrombosis, and cavernous transformation despite prompt stent graft placement across the ruptured HAPA, and required definitive treatment by transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt creation with portal vein reconstruction utilizing a trans-splenic access. This case highlights the importance of interval abdominal imaging and hypercoagulability screening for noncirrhotic patients at-risk for PVT, which identified the patient as a heterozygous carrier of Factor V Leiden.Malignant rhabdoid tumors (MRT) represent a very rare group of tumors in infants that have an aggressive clinical behavior, are refractory to therapy, and have a high mortality rate. We present two cases that demonstrate the importance of early diagnosis for further treatment. The first case was a 4 and a half month old boy that presented with an enlarged liver and was treated as hepatoblastoma with metastatic changes in the lung parenchyma after the diagnosis. The second case was a female neonate presenting with hardening on the right side of the abdomen which was treated as MRT of the liver after radiological and clinical evaluation. In both cases, the initial histopathologic diagnosis was hepatoblastoma, but later analyses confirmed the diagnosis of MRT. From our experience, imaging findings can be a valuable tool in directing further evaluation since even histopathologic differentiation from the small cell undifferentiated hepatoblastoma is a real challenge.Transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT) is one possible treatment approach for bladder tumors. Bladder wall perforation is one potential complication of TURBT. Signs of perforation include abdominal distension, the inability to distend the bladder, and the low retrieval of irrigation fluids. Peritonitis may occur if a perforation diagnosis is delayed. Early detection and diagnosis are crucial for the prevention of severe complications, such as peritonitis and sepsis. Here, we describe a case of a 69-year-old male with a bladder rupture secondary to TURBT.
