Phylogenetic relationships among the barnacles were reconstructed using mitochondrial (12S, COI) and nuclear (H3, 28S) markers. None of the barnacle genera were recovered as monophyletic. Euacasta was paraphyletic in relation to the remaining Acastinae genera, which were polyphyletic. Six well-supported clades of molecular operational taxonomic units, herein considered to represent species complexes, were recovered, but relationships between them were not well supported. These complexes showed differing patterns of host usage, though most were phylogenetically conserved with sister lineages typically occupying related hosts within the same genus or family of sponge. The results show that host specialists are predominant, and the dynamics of host usage have played a significant role in the evolutionary history of the Acastinae.
Traditionally, total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA) involves detaching the subscapularis tendon through either tenotomy or lesser tuberosity osteotomy. A subscapularis-sparing approach avoids detachment but may make re-creation of the anatomy more difficult because of limited exposure. The primary aim of this study was to evaluate the ability to re-create the proximal humeral geometry and assess for osteophyte removal with this technique. The secondary aim was to assess for complications or an inability to complete the procedure with this technique.

We performed a retrospective review of a consecutive series of 47 patients (100% with osteoarthritis; 59% Walch type A and 41% Walch type B; 50% male and 50% female patients; and average body mass index, 28.21 ± 4.6) who underwent the subscapularis-sparing windowed anterior technique for TSA. The ability to reconstruct the proximal humeral geometry and remove the inferior osteophytes was assessed by 2 independent observers using the center-of-rotation difference ed successfully without compromising anatomic reconstruction of the proximal humerus. Further study is necessary to identify patient factors that would favor a traditional deltopectoral approach and to assess the functional outcomes of this technique.Although organotin (OT) use is restricted worldwide, with the development of industry and agriculture, a large amount of OT is still discharged into aquatic environments. These OTs may interact with other pollutants that cause adverse biological effects (through bioaccumulation and/or toxicity), resulting in combined toxicity. Most research on OTs have focused on the exposure of a single analyte. Information on the toxicity of OTs and coexisting pollutants is quite limited, but is developing rapidly. This is the first review paper evaluating the current state of knowledge on the combined effects of OTs with co-pollutants. This paper reviews 1) the degradation of organotin; and 2) the combined toxicity of OTs and emerging pollutants (EP), heavy metals, and organic pollutants. Future research needs are discussed to better understand the risks associated with co-exposure to OT pollutants.Ototoxicity of drugs is an important inducement for hearing loss. Anisomycin is a candidate drug for parasite, cancer, immunosuppression, and mental disease. However, the ototoxicity of anisomycin has not been examined. In this study, the ototoxicity of anisomycin was evaluated using zebrafish lateral line. We found the zebrafish treated with anisomycin during lateral line development could inhibit hair cell formation in a time- and dose-dependent manner. After neuromasts are mature with differentiated hair cells by 5 day post-fertilization, anisomycin could induce hair cell loss effectively through chronic exposure rather than acute exposure. TUNEL assay and qPCR of apoptosis related genes tp53, casp8, casp3a, and casp3b indicated that cell apoptotic was induced by chronic anisomycin exposure. Furthermore, knocking down tp53 with antisense morpholino could attenuate the hair cell loss induced by anisomycin. In addition, we found that anisomycin chronic exposure also inhibited the proliferation of supporting cell. Together, these results indicate that chronic anisomycin exposure could induce hair cell death and block supporting cell proliferation, which causes hair cell loss in zebrafish neuromast. This study provides primary ototoxicity evaluation for anisomycin.
Lynch syndrome is a form of hereditary colorectal cancer (CRC) caused by pathogenic germline variants (PV) in DNA mismatch repair (MMR) genes. Currently, many Western countries perform universal immunohistochemistry testing on CRC to increase the identification of Lynch syndrome patients and their relatives. For a clear understanding of health benefits and costs, data on its outcomes are required proportions of Lynch syndrome, sporadic MMR-deficient (MMRd) cases, and unexplained MMRd cases.

Ovid Medline, Embase, and Cochrane CENTRAL were searched for studies reporting on universal MMR immunohistochemistry, followed by MMR germline analysis, until March 20, 2020. Proportions were calculated, subgroup analyses were performed based on age and diagnostics used, and random effects meta-analyses were conducted. Quality was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Critical Appraisal Tool for Prevalence Studies.

Of 2723 identified articles, 56 studies covering 58,580 CRCs were included. In 6.22% (95% CI, 5.08%-7.61%; Iel testing. This contributes to optimizing testing and surveillance in MMRd CRC patients and relatives.
Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a chronic, immune-mediated disease for which there is currently no pharmacologic therapy approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

In this double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase 3 trial, patients 11-55 years of age with EoE and dysphagia were randomized 21 to receive budesonide oral suspension (BOS) 2.0 mg twice daily or placebo for 12 weeks at academic or community care practices. Co-primary endpoints were the proportion of stringent histologic responders (≤6 eosinophils/high-power field) or dysphagia symptom responders (≥30% reduction in Dysphagia Symptom Questionnaire [DSQ] score) over 12 weeks. Fungal inhibitor Changes in DSQ score (key secondary endpoint) and EoE Endoscopic Reference Score (EREFS) (secondary endpoint) from baseline to week 12, and safety parameters were examined.

Overall, 318 patients (BOS, n= 213; placebo, n= 105) were randomized and received ≥1 dose of study treatment. More BOS-treated than placebo-treated patients achieved a stringent histologic response (53.
