Interestingly, depletion of ASAH1 in pre-senescent cells sensitized these cells to the senolytics Dasatinib and Quercetin (D+Q). Together, our study indicates that ASAH1 promotes senescence, protects senescent cells, and confers resistance against senolytic drugs. This study was to explore the pharmacological role of CDK9 inhibition in attenuating atherosclerosis.

A small-molecule CDK9 inhibitor, LDC000067, was utilized to treat the high fat diet (HFD)-fed ApoE
mice and human VSMCs.

The results showed that inflammation and phenotypic switching of VSMCs were observed in HFD-induced atherosclerosis in ApoE
mice, which were accompanied with increased CDK9 in the serum and atherosclerotic lesions where it colocalized with VSMCs. LDC000067 treatment significantly suppressed HFD-induced inflammation, proliferation and phenotypic switching of VSMCs, resulting in reduced atherosclerosis in the ApoE
mice, while had no effect on plasma lipids. Further
studies confirmed that LDC000067 and siRNA-mediated CDK9 knockdown reversed ox-LDL-induced inflammation and phenotypic switching of VSMCs from a contractile phenotype to a synthetic phenotype via inhibiting NF-κB signaling pathway in human VSMCs.

Together, these findings demonstrate that miR-34a inhibits melanoma growth by targeting the proto-oncogene ZEB1 and suggest the miR-34a -ZEB1 axis may serve as a novel target for melanoma treatment.
Mullerianosis is a sporadic condition of the urinary bladder. The study aims to present a case of mullerianosis with a brief literature review.

A 52-year-old lady presented with hematuria for one-year duration. A general urine examination showed microscopic hematuria. Abdominal and transvaginal ultrasonography revealed a soft tissue mass (13 * 10mm) within the base of the urinary bladder. Cystoscopy showed 1.0 * 1.3cm benign-looking mass bulging into the posterior bladder wall covered by a normal bladder mucosa. Transurethral resection was done. The histopathological examination was consistent with mullerianosis.
