Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) is a rare low-grade glial neoplasm of the central nervous system, which is difficult to distinguish from other neoplastic and non-neoplastic entities. Herein, we report 2 cases of PXA that had been misdiagnosed as an inflammatory granuloma.

The first case was a 22-year-old man who originally presented with a generalized seizure 7 years previously. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a lesion in the right parietal lobe, leading to a diagnosis of inflammatory granuloma. The second case was a 43-year-old man who presented with repeated generalized seizures. MRI revealed a nodular lesion in the left temporal lobe. The magnetic resonance spectrum showed elevated Cho and NAA peaks and a decreased Cr peak. An inflammatory granuloma was suspected.

After surgical treatment, histopathological examination revealed PXA.

We report a case of a 92-year-old man who came to the neurologist outpatient department due to left buttock pain and numbness that radiated to the left lower leg in the recent 6 months and progressed rapidly over 10 days.

We arranged magnetic resonance imaging for lumbar nerve lesion. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a common iliac artery mycotic aneurysm, at about 6.3 cm in diameter, which compressed the psoas muscle, nerve plexus, and vein.

We used a left-side iliac bifurcation stent graft of 12 mm in diameter for aneurysm repair. An internal iliac artery with a stent graft of 10 mm x 5 cm. An abdomen aortic aneurysm stent was inserted, 1 cm beneath the right renal artery from the right side femoral artery.

After endovascular repair and 4 weeks of antibiotic treatment, he could walk again, and no sciatica was noted. We repeated computed tomography 5 months after the operation and noted that the size of the iliac artery aneurysm decreased without stent graft migration or extravasation. Our patient recovered from sciatic and left leg weakness; above all, he could walk again.

We suggest practitioners check for common iliac artery aneurysms in the diagnosis of symptoms mimicking spinal cord origin sciatica, especially in elder patients.

The combined therapy of Chinese herbal formula and western medicine against gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) could significantly improve the clinical effect, reduce the recurrence rate and the side effects of western medicine, and even reduce the dosage and course of treatment of western medicine. This study tried to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety traditional Chinese herbal formula combined with western medicine in the treatment of GERD.

Randomized controlled trials of traditional Chinese herbal formula combined with western medicine for GERD patients will be systematically searched using the PubMed, Embase, Medline, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang database, Chongqing VIP Chinese Science and Technology Periodical Database, and Chinese Biological and Medical database (CMB) until Aug. https://www.selleckchem.com/ 28, 2020. The objective of this meta-analysis was to summarize and identify the available evidence from studies to estimate the clinical value of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis with interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD). And provides clinicians with evidence on which to base their clinical decision making.

This review will include all studies comparing clinical efficacy of TCM in the treatment of RA-ILD. The search strategy will be performed in 9 databases. We will not establish any limitations to language and publication status, published from inception to the August 2020. Two reviewers will screen, select studies, extract data, and assess quality independently. Outcome is lung function, number of swelling joints, number of painful joints, duration of morning stiffness, VAS score, adverse effects, quality of life, ESR, CRP, rheumatoid factor and safety. The methodological quality including the risk of bias of the included studies will be evaluated. We will carry out statistical analysis using RevMan 5.3 software.

This study will summarize current evidence to assess the efficacy and safety of TCM in the treatment of RA-ILD.

The findings of this study will provide helpful evidence for the clinician, and will promote further studies, as well as studying the value of TCM.

Sulindac has been used for treating colorectal polyps widely. However, the efficacy and safety of sulindac for colorectal polyps are unclear. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of sulindac for colorectal polyps.

Randomized controlled trials of sulindac in the treatment of colorectal polyps will be searched in PubMed, EMbase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), WanFang, the Chongqing VIP Chinese Science, and Technology Periodical Database, and China biomedical literature database (CBM) from inception to August, 2020. And Baidu Scholar, Google Scholar, International Clinical Trials Registry Platform, and Chinese Clinical Trials Registry will be searched to obtain more relevant studies comprehensively. Two researchers will perform data extraction and risk of bias assessment independently. Statistical analysis will be conducted in RevMan 5.3.
