PDMP programs could improve their targeting of unsolicited reports to reach more individuals at risk of overdose by using predictive models instead of simple threshold-based approaches.Our aim was to explore the clinical characteristics and diagnostic methods of benign abducens nerve palsy in children. The clinical and laboratory characteristics, treatment approach, and prognosis of two children with benign abducens nerve palsy were retrospectively evaluated. The main clinical symptoms of the two children were limited binocular movement accompanied by double vision, and the positive physical signs were limited binocular abduction accompanied by diplopia. No abnormalities were found in laboratory examinations or in imaging of the head, chest, and abdomen. Both children were treated with B vitamins, methylprednisolone, and gamma globulin, and the clinical symptoms disappeared within 3 months of starting treatment. The cause of benign abducens nerve palsy in children is unknown, but may be related to immune factors. They recognise self, altered self and foreign Ags, comprising an important first-line defence against invading pathogens and serving as innate recognition receptors for tissue homeostasis. Natural IgG Abs have been found in newborns and uninfected individuals. Yet, their physiological role remains unclear. Previously, no natural IgG Abs to oxidation-specific epitopes have been reported. Here, we show the cloning and characterisation of mouse IgG mAbs against malondialdehyde acetaldehyde (MAA)-modified low-density lipoprotein. Sequence analysis reveals high homology with germline genes, suggesting that they are natural. Further investigation shows that the MAA-specific natural IgG Abs cross-react with the major periodontal pathogen Porphyromonas gingivalis and recognise its principle virulence factors gingipain Kgp and long fimbriae. The study provides evidence that natural IgGs may play an important role in innate immune defence and in regulation of tissue homeostasis by recognising and removing invading pathogens and/or modified self-Ags, thus being involved in the development of periodontitis and atherosclerosis.In discovery of HDAC inhibitors (HDACIs) with improved anticancer potency, structural modification was performed on the previous derived indole-3-butyric acid derivative. Among all the synthesised compounds, molecule I13 exhibited high HDAC inhibitory and antiproliferative potencies in the in vitro investigations. The IC50 values of I13 against HDAC1, HDAC3, and HDAC6 were 13.9, 12.1, and 7.71 nM, respectively. In the cancer cell based screening, molecule I13 showed increased antiproliferative activities in the inhibition of U937, U266, HepG2, A2780, and PNAC-1 cells compared with SAHA. In the HepG2 xenograft model, 50 mg/kg/d of I13 could inhibit tumour growth in athymic mice compared with 100 mg/kg/d of SAHA. Induction of apoptosis was revealed to play an important role in the anticancer potency of molecule I13. Collectively, a HDACI (I13) with high anticancer activity was discovered which can be utilised as a lead compound for further HDACI design.
To evaluate the clinical characteristics and indications for surgery for bezoar-induced small bowel obstruction (BI-SBO).

Forty patients with BI-SBO were treated at our hospital from January 2017 to December 2019, and these patients' clinical and computed tomography (CT) data were analyzed.

Twenty-seven and 13 BI-SBO patients constituted the non-ST group and ST group, respectively. The clinical manifestations of BI-SBO in both groups were abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and lack of defecation. Comparing the non-ST vs ST groups, respectively mean age (years) 63.15 ± 16.15 vs 60.38 ± 12.47; duration of symptoms (hours) 55.11 ± 44.08 vs 59.33 ± 72.90; mean bezoar length (cm) 5.31 ± 0.74 vs 3.72 ± 0.53; mean bezoar width (cm) 3.74 ± 0.48 vs 2.9 ± 0.64; bezoar CT maximum Hounsfield units (HU) 97.23 ± 12.36 vs 21.11 ± 7.27; total hospital stay (days) 5.56 ± 4.23 vs 7.12 ± 6.12 (mean 8.62 ± 2.81); and total hospitalization costs (RMB) 6378.02 ± 3015.68 vs 8213.71 ± 5564.29. Mean operation time was 85.00 ± 8.90 minutes, and mean operation blood loss was 32.31 ± 19.64 mL. Bezoars were located 60 to 160 cm from the ileocecal junction. Univariate analysis demonstrated that bezoar length and width and maximum CT value were significant risk factors for surgery.

Sexual dysfunction has been reported in patients with seizure, which mostly manifests as erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation in men. In this study, we report the case of a 65-year-old Chinese man with frequent spermatorrhea. Electroencephalography suggested local epilepsy in the left temporal lobe. After treatment with anti-epilepsy drugs, the symptoms disappeared and did not recur. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first reported case of epilepsy-induced spermatorrhea. The symptoms of spermatorrhea are probably a rare manifestation of seizure. When repetitive stereotyped symptoms occur, seizure should be considered, and tentative anti-epileptic treatment may be a good option.
