Cell proliferation assay showed that overexpression of IUR and PTEN resulted in decreased NPC cell proliferation rate. Overexpression of miR-144 played an opposite role and attenuated the effects of overexpression of IUR. The different features between non-industry-sponsored medicine trials conducted in Europe and the USA to treat COVID-19 patients registered in the first trimester of the pandemic are unknown.
A search was conducted on four databases looking for ongoing medicine randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and non-RCTs registered current through April 25, 2020. All trials assessing medicines on prophylaxis, special populations, assessing non-medicines and convalescent plasma, were excluded. Of each trial, medicines assessed, design, sample size, registration date, study start and study completion dates, and type of patients were registered.
106 trials were identified, 62 in Europe and 46 in the USA ─with two conducted in both regions. In Europe, 90% were on hospitalized patients, and 70% in the USA (p<0.01). Mean of the estimated time to completion were 7.8 and 13.6 (p<0.001) months for European and USA trials . Multicenter trials were more frequent in Europe (63%) than in the USA (41%) (p=0.031). Masked RCTs were more frequently run in the USA than in Europe (p<0.001). RCTs on hospitalized patients were more commonly conducted in Europe (91%) than in the USA (65%) (p<0.01).

and evaluate their sensitivities and specificities separately and simultaneously for the diagnosis of CE.
The recombinant B8/1 and B8/2 antigens were produced and used in an ELISA system for the diagnosis of CE. The sera specimens including 30 sera from pathologically confirmed CE patients, 30 from other non-CE patients, and 30 from healthy controls, were evaluated by the ELISA, using AgB8/1 and AgB8/2.
The results showed a sensitivity of 93.33%, 90%, and 96.7% for AgB8/1, AgB8/2, and their combination, respectively. The specificities were 91.7%, 93.33%, and 93.33% for AgB8/1, AgB8/2, and their combination, respectively.
Simultaneous usage of AgB8/1 and AgB8/2 increased the test sensitivity for the diagnosis of CE. To investigate the biomechanical effects of two synthetic prostaglandin F2α analogues (PGF2α), namely Travoprost and Tafluprost, on the ex-vivo rabbit cornea.
Ninety-six eyes of 48 Japanese white rabbits were divided into 3 equal groups randomly; the Travoprost treated group (Tra), the Tafluprost treated group (Taf) and the control group (Co). Eyes in Tra and Taf groups were preserved in storage medium for 10days with 110 Travoprost and Tafluprost diluents, respectively; while the Co eyes were preserved in a similar but PGF2α-free medium. Twenty-four corneas of each group were tested under inflation conditions with up to 30mmHg posterior pressure. The pressure-deformation data obtained experimentally were used in an inverse analysis process to derive the stress-strain behavior of the tissue, using which the tangent modulus, a direct measure of the tissue's material stiffness, was calculated. The remaining eight specimens of each group were analyzed using electron microscopy for fibril diameter and interfibrillar spacing.
