Receptors for the peptide hormones glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1R), glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIPR) and glucagon (GCGR) are important regulators of insulin secretion and energy metabolism. GLP-1R agonists have been successfully deployed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, but it has been suggested that their efficacy is limited by target receptor desensitisation and downregulation due to recruitment of β-arrestins. Indeed, recently described GLP-1R agonists with reduced β-arrestin-2 recruitment have delivered promising results in preclinical and clinical studies. We therefore aimed to determine if the same phenomenon could apply to the closely related GIPR and GCGR. In HEK293 cells depleted of both β-arrestin isoforms the duration of G protein-dependent cAMP/PKA signalling was increased in response to the endogenous ligand for each receptor. Moreover, in wild-type cells, "biased" GLP-1, GCG and GIP analogues with selective reductions in β-arrestin-2 recruitment led to reduced receptor endocytosis and increased insulin secretion over a prolonged stimulation period, although the latter effect was only seen at high agonist concentrations. Biased GCG analogues increased the duration of cAMP signalling, but this did not lead to increased glucose output from hepatocytes. Our study provides a rationale for development of GLP-1R, GIPR and GCGR agonists with reduced β-arrestin recruitment, but further work is needed to maximally exploit this strategy for therapeutic purposes.
To review the literature regarding associations between developmental motor delay (DMD) and pediatric obesity. We hope to identify potential interventions that can improve motor coordination at an early age, thereby minimizing the deterring factors of physical activity down the road.

An integrative review was undertaken using search combinations to best identify potential publications. Manuscripts were reviewed, summarized, and discussed in detail. An experienced clinician in pediatric obesity reviewed the final searches for substantive content.

Inclusion criteria include English language studies or publications, children ≤18 years old, publication/study relates to DMD and pediatric obesity. Excluded publications regarded topics of pediatric obesity that have been extensively studied such as maternal and family histories of obesity, isolated nutritional or physical interventions to improve obesity without discussion of DMD.

21 publications were included for review. Papers fell into three main categories regarding the association between pediatric obesity and DMD 1) Motor function - negative association with motor function and obesity 2) Motor Development - lower levels of motor function are associated with decreased levels of exercise, and 3) Role of Intervention - specific physical activity intervention showed improvements in motor function.

Results showed that with increased XG and κC concentrations, the viscosity of FG-XG and FG-κC complex solutions both increased. It was also found that the lubrication properties of FG-anionic polysaccharide (AP) solutions decreased with the increased AP contents. The applications of FG-AP complexes (FGAP = 91) improved firmness, water holding capacity and viscosity of yoghurt by the formation of large aggregates, but gels were easily destroyed at high frequency. Moreover, compared with gelatin, FG-AP complexes made yoghurt better lubrication properties during low and medium sliding speed, especially for FG-XG complexes. Thus, FG-AP complexes have the potential to be applied in producing yoghurt with good quality.
The Taylor spatial frame offered the ability of simultaneous correction of the multidirectional deformities without the need to change the frame, and it was widely used for limb lengthening, deformity correction, and fracture reduction in recent years. There are still some inherent limitations that can affect the accuracy of correction, especially for the measurement of the mounting and rotational parameters. The purpose of our study was to propose some more precise postoperative measurement of Taylor spatial frame (TSF) parameters by application of elliptic registration and three-dimensional reconstruction.

This retrospectively study included 28 trauma patients who suffered tibial fracture treated by the TSF at our institution from January 2016 to January 2018, including 25 males and 3 females with a mean age of 43 years (range 14-70 years). We conducted standard full-length anteroposterior and lateral X-rays of the injured extremity and the computed tomographic scans of the bilateral extremities after tof unusually complex cases.
The TSF system can correct the 6-axis deformities simultaneously with the accurate parameters. Elliptic registration and three-dimensional reconstruction are alternative methods to precisely measure the parameters needed by the TSF system, especially for the mounting and rotational parameters of unusually complex cases.
Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is one of the most feared complications of total joint arthroplasty (TJA). Although commonly the result of colonization by Staphylococcal species, a growing number of cases of PJI with fungal pathogens have been reported within the last decade. Although standard treatment with two-stage exchange mirrors that of bacterial PJI, the variability in virulence between fungal species makes for an unpredictable and challenging treatment course.

A review of Pubmed and Scopus from years 2009 to 2019 was conducted with the search terms fungal, infection, Candida, arthroplasty, periprosthetic, and prosthesis. Publications were reviewed and screened, yielding data for 286 patients with fungal PJI in the hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow prosthetics.
