mortality and bacteraemia or antibiotic administration in OHCA patients.Chondrocyte apoptosis contributes to osteoarthritis, while miR-146a is a critical player in chondrocyte apoptosis. Our bioinformatics analysis showed that miR-146a may bind with long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) CALML3 antisense RNA 1 (CALML3-AS1). Our study was therefore carried out to investigate the interactions between lncRNA CALML3-AS1 and miR-146a in osteoarthritis. This study included 66 osteoarthritis patients who were admitted at Shanxi People's Hospital from July 2016 to June 2019. Transfections were performed to analyse gene interactions. RT-qPCR and Western blot were performed to determine the expression levels of gene and protein, respectively. Cell apoptosis of chondrocytes induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) was analysed by cell apoptosis assay. We found that CALML3-AS1 was downregulated, while miR-146a was upregulated in osteoarthritis. However, no significant correlation was found between them. In addition, overexpression of CALML3-AS1 or miR-146a did not affect the expression of each other. However, overexpression of CALML3-AS1 resulted in the upregulation of Smad family member 4 (Smad4), a downstream target of miR-146a. We also found that the expression of miR-146a and Smad4 were negatively correlated, while the correlation between CALML3-AS1 and smad4 was not significant. In cell apoptosis assay, overexpression of CALML3-AS1 and Smad4 resulted in decreased proliferation of chondrocytes. MiR-146a played an opposite role and reduced the effects of overexpression of CALML3-AS1 and Smad4. Therefore, CALML3-AS1 may regulate chondrocyte apoptosis by acting as a sponge for miR-146a to upregulate Smad4.This paper analyzes research outputs in Ergonomics and Human Factors Engineering (EHFE), revealing its intellectual structure via bibliometric techniques, co-word, network analysis, and science visualization tools. Population comprises of 23,472 records published during 2000-2018, in 19 core journals of Human Factors and Ergonomics subject category in Scopus. The findings showed that in EHFE fields "the United States", "University of Central Florida" and "Stanton NA" were the most productive country, university and author, respectively. It was also found that "Ergonomics" was the most frequent keyword and "Ergonomics and Human Factor" were the most frequent co-occurred keywords in EHFE documents. Hierarchical cluster analysis led to the creation of eight topical clusters, including among others "Biomechanics ergonomics", "Work-related MSDs & work system design", and "Performance". The results indicated that "Biomechanics ergonomics" was a well-matured cluster while "Human machine interaction", "Ergonomics design", "Macro-ergonomics", and "Cognitive ergonomics" were found to be emerging or declining clusters. Many laboratories struggle with mycoplasma contamination and cell line misidentification when growing cells in culture. These well-documented issues affect the scientific research community and have detrimental downstream effects. Research published with suspect cultures can produce misleading results. There is increasing pressure to verify the integrity of experimental and established cell lines before publishing. Therefore, laboratories need to define how and when to perform these critical tests, analyze the results, and determine action plans if disparities exist. Our laboratory is committed to producing cell lines of the highest quality for use in experiments; thus, we created a surveillance strategy for these potential problems. We developed processes for both testing and tracing cell line authentication and mycoplasma detection data. Using these methods, we can protect the integrity of our patient and commercial cell lines, maintaining reliable cultures for our research. This article employs probability-based modelling to unpack the complex and multifaceted individual, social, and psychological processes that may provide psychological protection for individuals engaged with terrorist groups. We outline the predictors of the onset of psychological distress across two phases of terrorist involvement (pre-engagement and engagement). Using a dataset of 96 terrorist autobiographies, we conduct sequence analyses to pinpoint the onset of psychological problems and the experiences that preceded and followed this onset. The results demonstrate a complexity in the relationship between mental disorders and terrorist engagement, as well as the heterogeneity of the lived experience of "being" a terrorist. The experience of psychological distress was mediated by numerous factors and the combination of these factors. learn more The evidence suggests that, in certain cases, individual and group resilience may be a protective factor when an individual faces negative experiences. The presence of protective factors may not be sufficient to explain why group-actor terrorists present with a lower than expected prevalence of mental disorder. Future work should examine whether experiences commonly viewed as risk factors may be more useful in examining the occurrence of psychopathology in terrorists.
The death of a loved one is considered as one of the most stressful life events. During the COVID-19 pandemic, grief processes are potentially affected by measures such as social distancing and self-quarantine.
The aim of this study was to give insight in the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on quality of life, social support, and self-care of bereaved relatives of people with advanced cancer in order to evaluate whether care for bereaved relatives during the COVID-19 pandemic should be improved.
A cross-sectional analysis using data from bereaved relatives of a prospective, longitudinal, multicenter, observational study on quality of care and quality of life of people with advanced cancer and their (bereaved) relatives (eQuiPe).
Quality of life, social support, and self-care of bereaved relatives who completed a questionnaire within 3-6 months after their relative died during COVID-19 (April-November 2020) were compared with bereaved relatives who completed this questionnaire pre-COVID-19 (April-November 2019).
