Extranodal lymphomas represent an extranodal location of both non-Hodgkin and Hodgkin lymphomas. This study aims to evaluate the role of CT and MRI in the assessment of relationships of extranodal lymphomas with surrounding tissues and in the characterization of the lesion. We selected and reviewed ten recent studies among the most recent ones present in literature exclusively about CT and MRI imaging of extranodal lymphomas. This requires the radiologist to know the basics of surgical techniques as well as liver surgical anatomy in order to help to avoid unexpected surgical scenarios and complications. #link# Moreover, virtual resections and volumetries on radiological images will be discussed, and basic concepts of postoperative liver failure, regeneration, and methods for hypertrophy induction will be provided.On computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), hepatocellular tumors are characterized based on typical imaging findings. However, hepatocellular adenoma, focal nodular hyperplasia, and hepatocellular carcinoma can show uncommon appearances at CT and MRI, which may lead to diagnostic challenges. When assessing focal hepatic lesions, radiologists need to be aware of these atypical imaging findings to avoid misdiagnoses that can alter the management plan. Rarely, LAGB complications may be related to the connection tube system and in this case the clinical presentation and the effects of the problem can generate difficulties in diagnosis.
A 47 years old woman who had a LAGB placed 2 years before the symptoms was admitted in our centre with nausea, vomit, leukocytosis and distended abdomen with a generalized tenderness. Computed tomography images showed an anomalous course of banding tube and a contemporary compression of a small bowel tract secondary to the traction exerted by an adipose tissue band attracted by the tube.
A laparoscopic exploration of the abdominal cavity showed a tight loop of LAGB tubing causing a small bowel obstruction with an ischemic damage, so surgeons provided to LAGB removal and a 50 cm ileum resection CONCLUSIONS Small bowel obstruction resulting from LAGB tubing is an uncommon complication which was reported in few cases. Although bariatric surgery currently represents the best treatment option for morbid obesity and its related- diseases, peri- and post-operative complications have always to be taken into account.

Adjustable gastric band complications, Bariatric surgery, Bowel obstruction, CT scan, LAGB tube.We report a method for expanding microchannel-embedded paper devices using a precisely controlled gas-foaming technique for the generation of volumetric tissue models in vitro. We successfully fabricated hollow, perfusable microchannel patterns contained in a densely entangled network of bacterial cellulose nanofibrils using matrix-assisted sacrificial three-dimensional printing, and demonstrated the maintenance of their structural integrity after gas-foaming-enabled expansion in an aqueous solution of NaBH4. The resulting expanded microchannel-embedded paper devices showed multilayered laminar structures with controllable thicknesses as a function of both NaBH4 concentration and expansion time. With expansion, the thickness and porosity of the bacterial cellulose network were significantly increased. As such, cellular infiltration was promoted comparing to as-prepared, non-expanded devices. This simple technique enables the generation of truly volumetric, cost-effective human-based tissue models, such as vascularized tumor models, for potential applications in preclinical drug screening and personalized therapeutic selection.
