Ammonia oxidising archaea (AOA) are ecologically important nitrifiers in acidic agricultural soils. Two AOA phylogenetic clades, belonging to order-level lineages of Nitrososphaerales (clade C11; also classified as NS-Gamma-2.3.2) and family-level lineage of Candidatus Nitrosotaleaceae (clade C14; NT-Alpha-1.1.1), usually dominate AOA population in low pH soils. This study aimed to investigate the effect of different fertilisation histories on community composition and activity of acidophilic AOA in soils. High-throughput sequencing of ammonia monooxygenase gene (amoA) was performed on six low pH agricultural plots originating from the same soil but amended with different types of fertilisers for over 20 years and nitrification rates in those soils were measured. In these fertilised acidic soils, nitrification was likely dominated by Nitrososphaerales AOA and ammonia-oxidising bacteria, while Ca. Nitrosotaleaceae AOA activity was non-significant. Within Nitrososphaerales AOA, community composition differed based on the fertilisation history, with Nitrososphaerales C11 only representing a low proportion of the community. This study revealed that long-term soil fertilisation selects for different acidophilic nitrifier communities, potentially through soil pH change or through direct effect of nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus. Comparative community composition among the differently fertilised soils also highlighted the existence of AOA phylotypes with different levels of stability to environmental changes, contributing to the understanding of high AOA diversity maintenance in terrestrial ecosystems.Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental disorder linked to functional impairments and adverse health outcomes. We sought to examine the association between pregnant women with OCD and obstetrical and neonatal outcomes in the USA. A retrospective population-based cohort study was conducted using data provided by pregnant women from the Nationwide Inpatient Sample, a nationally representative database of hospitalizations in the USA, from 1999 to 2015. Using diagnostic and procedure codes from the International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-9-CM), we identified births and classified women by OCD status. Demographic and clinical characteristics were compared for women with and without OCD and multivariate logistic regressions were used to obtain odds ratios (OR) to compare obstetrical and neonatal outcomes between the two groups, adjusting for relevant demographic and clinical variables. Between 1999 and 2015, there were 3365 births to women with OCD, corresponding to an overall prevalence of 24.40 per 100,000 births. Women with OCD were more likely to be older than 25, Caucasian, of higher socioeconomic status, smokers or used drugs and alcohol, and have other comorbid psychiatric conditions. In adjusted models, OCD was associated with a higher risk of gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, premature rupture of membranes, caesarean and instrumental deliveries, venous thromboembolisms and preterm birth. Pregnancies in women with OCD are at high risk of adverse obstetrical and neonatal outcomes. A multidisciplinary approach should be used to identify high risk behaviours and ensure adequate prenatal follow-up and care be available for those with high risk pregnancies.Underserved women of color experience high rates of perinatal affective disorders, but most research to date on the natural history of these disorders has been conducted on White women. The present study investigated longitudinal changes in anxiety and depression in a sample of perinatal non-Hispanic Black and Latina women. Categorical (yes/no) measures of positive anxiety and depression screens, as well as total symptom scores, were measured longitudinally across the perinatal period in 178 women (115 non-Hispanic Black, 63 Latina) using the CAT-MH™, a computerized adaptive test. Time (up to 4 visits) and race/ethnicity effects were assessed in linear mixed effects models. Rates of positive anxiety screenings were 13.6%, 3.2%, 8.5%, and 0% in Latina women and 2.6%, 4.2%, 6.1%, and 5.8% in non-Hispanic Black women in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters, and postpartum, respectively. Rates of positive anxiety screenings overall were highest in the first trimester (OR = 0.20; 95% CI 0.04-0.98), and there was a significant time-by-race/ethnicity interaction for positive anxiety screens (OR = 8.88; 95% CI 1.42-55.51), as positive screens were most frequent in the first trimester and sharply declined for Latina women, while rates were relatively consistent across the perinatal period in non-Hispanic Black women. Rates of positive depression screens did not change over time, but there was a trend (OR = 1.93; 95% CI 0.93-4.03) for a time-by-race/ethnicity interaction in a direction similar to that seen for anxiety. The odds of positive anxiety screens vary by race/ethnicity and trimester, suggesting that anxiety screening and anxiety interventions may be most resourcefully used in the first trimester for Latina women in particular.
To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of core needle biopsy (CNB) under the assistance of hydrodissection (HDS).
Of 2325 patients requiring biopsy of thyroid lesions, 21 high-risk patients with subcapsular nodules smaller than 10mm were recruited into this study. All patients underwent HDS with 0.9% saline solution followed by ultrasound (US)-guided CNB with an 18-gauge semi-automated biopsy needle. Omipalisib The separation success rate (SSR) of the HDS, technical success rate (TSR) of CNB, histopathologic success rate (HSR), and complications were assessed.
Both the SSR of HDS and TSR of CNB were 100% (21/21). The HSR of the thyroid nodules was 85.7% (18/21). No major complications were recorded.
HDS before CNB can successfully lead to safe biopsy of small subcapsular thyroid nodules.

To evaluate diagnostic performance of a radiomics model for classifying hepatic cyst, hemangioma, and metastasis in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) from portal-phase abdominopelvic CT images.
This retrospective study included 502 CRC patients who underwent contrast-enhanced CT and contrast-enhanced liver MRI between January 2005 and December 2010. Portal-phase CT images of training (n = 386) and validation (n = 116) cohorts were used to develop a radiomics model for differentiating three classes of liver lesions. Among multiple handcrafted features, the feature selection was performed using ReliefF method, and random forest classifiers were used to train the selected features. Diagnostic performance of the developed model was compared with that of four radiologists. A subgroup analysis was conducted based on lesion size.
