Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos
Robots aren't so good at picking up debris like metal screws or pasta pieces. However, they are amazing at brushing away pet hair, dust, and food particles. The best models have intelligent navigation systems, which helps them avoid cords, toys and other household obstacles.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ is a fantastic robot vacuum with many smart features that make it easier to maintain. The automatic bin emptying feature is one of the most efficient features we've seen on a robot, and it works well with both hard floors and carpets. It's also easy to install and use with the app that guides you step-by-step through the process. Another impressive feature is its ability to return to where it began in our tests. It did this for 77 mins on one cleaning, before running out of battery.
The i3+ EVO is different from the other robot vacuums we tested comes with a self-emptying bin that automatically dumps debris into an external dirt container on the base of its charging once it is full. The i3+ EVO can be kept from overfilling thanks to a self-emptying container. However it still needs to be emptied manually at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's inner dust bin can hold 2.4L of trash and is enough to last five or four cleaning sessions before needing to replace it.
Like the i7, this model uses state-of-the-art floor sensors to create maps and navigate in neat rows. However the i3+ EVO only stores one map, whereas the i7 can store multiple. The map of the i7 can be used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones however, not the i3+ EVO.
The i3+ EVO does a better job of removing surface debris when compared to other robovacs we've reviewed, but it is not the most effective in cleaning corners and edges. It's also a bit less gentle on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It was a bit rough on furniture, as it pushed chairs away. It also made some collisions against the sides of the test bed.
2. Black & Decker Pro Q5
The Q5 Pro is an excellent choice, whether you are expanding your collection of robot vacuums, or just getting started. It has an elegant design, powerful navigation, and efficient automation at a low cost. It's the best model for the money available right now and even beats the Roborock models that are more expensive in a variety of ways.
This robot is fantastic in cleaning floors that are not clean and its avoidance technology helps it to steer away from furniture legs or other obstacles. It also does well on carpets and scores the highest score on our tests on navigation. The only drawback is that it's a little louder than other models we test and it doesn't do as well in our owners satisfaction and predicted reliability assessments.
The Q5 Pro comes with a large dust bin of 770ml, which means that you won't have to empty it as frequently as other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240 minute running time is also a lot when in comparison to other 2-in-1 robots that we tested. If the battery is empty it goes back to its dock and automatically recharges, before starting cleaning where it left off. You can control the Q5 Pro via the app and use voice commands with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
This is the first robot we've seen with 3D mapping. This along with other advancements made it perform extremely well in our vacuuming tests and mopping test. You can plan cleaning schedules, create no-go zones, and check the battery's status, among other things. The app is easy to use, but it does not support Apple HomeKit. This feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. As of the beginning of November, Apple has updated a footnote on its website to note that the feature will be delayed until 2025. HomeKit isn't compatible with other robots, however Siri Shortcuts are.
3. TP-Link Tapo RV30 Plus
If you want a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop and is affordable, the TP Link Tapo RV30 Plus is the best option. It is stylish in design and a lot of amazing features for the price. You can control it using the buttons on the machine through the app or even using voice commands. The device is powered by batteries and the vacuum container can automatically empty itself.
The TP-Link RV30 Plus does a great job at cleaning up messes of all kinds and is suitable for light mopping on hard floors. It comes with a replacement sweeping brush and mopping cloth as well with an HEPA-filter. It can be used in conjunction with a smart home hub, such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to provide convenient voice control. The TP-Link RV30 Plus is easy to install and can be connected to a range of flooring surfaces by using the automatic mode. This guarantees the best cleaning results for every room and floor type.
You can select from three cleaning modes to suit your needs. robotic vacuum cleaner vacuuming mode cleans the entire room and makes use of the smart sensor to identify edges furniture, stairs, and other obstacles. The mopping mode is utilized to clean the floor in a systematic manner or to get rid of the stubborn stains and liquid spills. A third option allows you to combine both functions for a deep and thorough cleaning.
The TP Link RV30 Plus features a powerful suction, 3 settings for dry mopping, and can quickly remove dust, pet hairs, crumbs and other debris from floors of any kind. The device can clean carpets without damaging the material thanks to special mopping tools.
During its first mapping session, TP-Link RV30 Plus scans your home and saves it using its dual navigation system that consists of LiDAR and Gyro. You can edit the map in the app and split or merge rooms according to your preference. You can also create virtual walls and no-go zones that will stop the RV30 Plus from wandering into areas you do not wish to visit.
4. Eufy iMop
The Eufy iMop is one of the best full-featured robot vacuums and mops for hard floors. It has a high-tech navigation system that does an excellent job of mapping your home even across multiple floors. The well-designed base station nearly completely automates the cleaning process. It is a great obstacle avoidance system and navigation.
This model utilizes a dToF internal LiDAR sensor to map your home, creating efficient cleaning routes. The iMop awed us with its navigation efficiency and coverage evaluations and was good at avoiding obstacles, including furniture. It's also able to locate its way back to the base station which is a nice feature in the event it's running out of battery during cleaning.
The spot cleaning mode allows you to clean a certain area on your floor. And robot cleaner can be manually programmed to follow a specific path, which is beneficial for narrow staircases or hallways. In our carpet cleaning test it did a good job cleaning carpets. However, it was unable to clean rugs and carpets with larger piles. It is able to lift the mop pad automatically when it comes in contact with carpet. This is a fantastic feature for those who wish to save the time of mopping their carpets.
The iMop comes with an onboard dustbin as well as a water tank, which it empties at the end every cleaning session. The onboard dust bin holds up to 2.5 liters of debris. It will only require emptying after a couple of cleaning cycles. The water tank can withstand about a dozen mopping sessions before it gets dry. The iMop requires less maintenance and cleaning than the typical robot vacuum, which could be a big selling point for busy families.
The mobile app for iMop is user-friendly and packed with configuration options. It comes with a variety of suction modes, mopping settings and scheduling. It also lets you design virtual walls and no-go zones to ensure that the robot doesn't wander into areas that aren't safe for it. The app also gives access to the iMop status and error messages.
