rization, highlighting the importance of early identification and risk factors control for improving cardiovascular health after CABG.
To evaluate the long-term results of remodeling in acute aortic dissection type A (AADA) to define operative risk and root and valve stability.
Between October 1995 and December 2018, a total of 352 patients were treated surgically for AADA. Of these, 90 patients with AADA (<2 weeks from onset; age 57 ± 15 years; 70 males) with a root diameter of >43 to 45 mm (depending on patient size) (48 ± 4.1 mm) underwent aortic root remodeling and were analyzed further. As the control group, we chose the patients with normally sized aortic roots who had been treated by tubular replacement only (
= 227). Other procedures were performed in 35 cases.
Early mortality was 9% in the remodeling group versus 15% in the tubular ascending aortic replacement (TAR). Actuarial survival at 10 and 15 years was 68 ± 5% and 58.3 ± 6.4%, respectively, in the root remodeling group versus 68 ± 4% and 66 ± 4% in the TAR group (
= 0.99). Freedom from reoperation on the aortic valve or root was 95 ± 3% at 10 years and at 89 ± 6% at 15 years. Freedom from proximal reoperation after TAR at 10 and 15 years was 93 ± 3% and 91 ± 3% (
= 31 patients at risk), respectively, not statistically different from that after remodeling (
= 0.75).
The long-term stability of aortic root remodeling for enlarged roots with AADA was comparable to TAR preserving a normal aortic root.

This study aims to confirm whether the GDMSCs isolated from rabbit's (
) gingiva are mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs).
This study design was partly quasi-experimental with an observational design. GDMSCs were isolated from the gingiva of healthy male rabbits (
) (
= 2), 6 months old, and 3 to 5 kg of body weight. The specific cell surface markers of MSCs; clusters of differentiation (CD), namely, CD44, CD73, CD90, CD105, and CD200 expressions; and hematopoietic stem cell surface markers CD34 and CD45 were examined using flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry with immunofluorescence. The osteogenic differentiation of isolated GDMSCs was examined using alizarin red staining.
GDMSCs in the fourth passage showed a spindle-like formation and fibroblast-like cells that attached to the base of the culture plate. GDMSCs were MSCs that positively expressed CD44, CD73, CD90, CD105, and CD200 but did not express CD34 and CD45 when examined using flow cytometry and immunohistochemical analysis. Pancuronium dibromide datasheet GDMSCs had osteogenic differentiation confirmed by calcified deposits
with a red-violet and brownish color after alizarin red staining.
GDMSCs isolated from the rabbits (
) were confirmed as MSCs
documented using immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry. GDMSCs can differentiate into osteogenic lineage
that may be suitable for regenerative dentistry.
GDMSCs isolated from the rabbits (O. cuniculus) were confirmed as MSCs in vitro documented using immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry. GDMSCs can differentiate into osteogenic lineage in vitro that may be suitable for regenerative dentistry.
International studies indicate that pandemics and quarantine can lead to significantly increased stress levels and mental illness in those affected. Stress levels and quality of life in selected population groups in the early phase of the lockdown of the corona pandemic were examined. Associations of coping strategies with perceived stress levels and associations of activities to increase well-being with health-related quality of life as an aspect of well-being are presented.
Data from the first survey wave of the CoPa study were evaluated, which were collected via online survey. Group differences regarding stress and quality of life were explorative tested by means of Chi-square tests and T-tests. Associations of coping strategies with stress and of activities to increase well-being with health-related quality of life were calculated using linear regression analysis.
Among the 5315 participants, persons at risk of mental health and those who did not go out in public showed signs of depression, anxiety disorders and stress significantly more often than other participants. Persons with children under 12 years of age showed significantly higher stress levels than others and their health-related quality of life was comparable. Perceived social support and self-efficacy proved to be resources for stress. Humor, physical activity, healthy eating, maintaining daily routines and pursuing specific goals were positively associated with health-related quality of life.
Persons with mental health risks need therapeutic services in times of reduced contact. Selected measures to increase well-being appear to be effective and should be recommended.

A strong association between on-thienopyridine platelet reactivity (PR) and the risk of both thrombotic and bleeding events in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has been demonstrated. However, no study has analyzed the relationship between on-ticagrelor PR and clinical outcome in this clinical setting.
We aimed to investigate the relationship between on-ticagrelor PR, assessed by the vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein (VASP) index, and clinical outcome in patients with ACS undergoing PCI.
We performed a prospective, multicenter, observational study of patients undergoing PCI for ACS. PR was measured using the VASP index following ticagrelor loading dose. The primary study endpoint was the rate of Bleeding Academic Research Consortium (BARC) type ≥2 at 1 year. The key secondary endpoint was the rate of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) defined as the composite of cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction, stroke, and urgent revascularization.
