iRobot suggests that you clear areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, and include getting rid of any toys or clutter it may encounter. You should also keep the filters and dust bin free of dirt to prevent them from becoming clogged. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station's dust bin. Its main advantage over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin that removes a major source of maintenance and reduces recurring costs.

We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to start or stop cleaning sessions as well as move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. Once connected, to speak commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.


3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery that produces energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens, and then lets cleaner air into your home. It could pick up the majority of types of debris and sizes during our tests and would often go over the same area multiple times to ensure an efficient clean. Its flat front allows it to reach corners and edges of walls.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models such as our top picks such as the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It can get stuck on phone cords or low furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower recurring cost and has more advanced automation capabilities and is better able to maneuver its own. It also has a bigger dustbin and charges quicker.

The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries strips and can be controlled by the voice assistant on your smartphone. It also feels more sturdy and has a more powerful motor, and works better on both bare floors and carpets with low pile, while offering a wider range of features for automation.

In our tests in our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it removed 86% of dog hair (on carpet). It did not do well in avoiding taller items like cords or socks.
