In vitro, the proliferation and migration abilities of schwann cells in the melatonin group were significantly higher than those of Schwann cells in the control group; while after treating with both melatonin and luzindole (a Shh signalling pathway inhibitor), the proliferation and migration abilities of Schwann cells decreased compared with the melatonin group. Our study suggests that melatonin might improve the proliferation and migration of Schwann cells via the Shh signalling pathway after PNI, thus promoting peripheral nerve regeneration. Our study provides a new approach and target for the clinical treatment of PNI.
Recent genomic profiling has identified a subtype of prostate cancer (PCa) characterized by two key genetic alterations missense mutation of speckle-type POZ protein (SPOP) and homozygous deletion of chromodomain helicase DNA-binding protein 1 (CHD1). Mutually exclusive with E26 transformation-specific (ETS) rearrangements, this subtype displays high genomic instability. Previous studies indicate that deficient SPOP or CHD1 alone leads to feeble prostate abnormalities and each protein is involved in DNA damage response (DDR). It remains to be determined whether CHD1 and SPOP cooperate to suppress prostate tumorigenesis and DDR.

The clinical implication is that this subtype of PCa may be particularly sensitive to poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors or DNA-damaging agents.Living and dying with dignity are fundamental values in palliative care, not only for the patient but also for family members. Although dignity has been studied from the different perspectives of patients in need of palliative care and their family members, family members' thoughts and feelings of dignity have not been given sufficient attention. Therefore, the aim was to describe family members' expressions of dignity in palliative care. The study had a qualitative design; semi-structured individual interviews were conducted with 15 family members of patients in palliative care in a county with a specialist palliative advisory team. Data were analysed using inductive content analysis. The results showed that family members' expressions of dignity are multifaceted and complex. For family members in palliative care, dignity means living as a respected human being in relation to oneself and others. Dignity also includes being able to maintain one's identity, feeling connected to significant others, and being comfortable with the new situation. Two contextual aspects affect family members' dignity the two-headed paradox and reciprocal impact. The two-headed paradox means that family members want to stay close to and care for the ill person, at the same time want to escape the situation, but when they escape, they want to be close again. Reciprocal impact means that family members' feelings and experiences of the situation are closely intertwined with those of the ill person. These results may increase healthcare professionals' understanding and be used in dignified care practices that do not threaten, but instead aim to preserve family members' sense of dignity.
To analyse clinical nurses' educational needs and disaster response readiness and the factors influencing their disaster response readiness.
This was a cross-sectional study.
A convenience sample comprising 260 nurses with more than a year of working experience at a hospital in Korea was selected from 1-31 August 2019. Data on nurses' educational needs and disaster response readiness were collected from participants. A multiple regression model was used to examine the factors influencing disaster response readiness among nurses.
Factors influencing personal readiness were number of years of clinical experience, being female, working in a medical ward, and educational needs for disaster response. Factors influencing self-protection were working in a medical ward and working in the emergency room. Factors influencing the emergency response were working in a medical ward and working in the emergency room. Factors influencing clinical management were a graduate-level education or higher, working in a medidge, skills, and judgment. Hospital administrators should encourage nurse educators to provide disaster-related training and simulation-based education to increase nurses' disaster competency to act during disasters.

This study aimed to assess the association between the prognosis of SGC patients and the probability of PD-L1 expression in tumor and/or immune cells using the tumor proportion score (TPS), mononuclear immune cell density score (MIDS), combined positive score (CPS), and CD8
TIL density in the TIM.
Retrospective cohort study.
We retrospectively reviewed 73 SGC patients treated with definitive surgery between 2000 and 2015. Immunohistochemical analysis was used to assess TPS, MIDS, CPS, and CD8
TIL density, followed by prognostic evaluation of these immune-related parameters.
Histological grade was associated with TPS, MIDS, and CPS based on PD-L1 expression, and these scores exhibited a significant association with CD8
TIL density. Patients with positive TPS had an unfavorable disease-free survival and overall survival. Multivariate analyses indicated that the TPS was a significant and independent prognostic factor.
Our results suggest that TPS might be a useful prognostic biomarker in SGC patients receiving definitive surgery. Laryngoscope, 2020.
