The PROMISE trial investigates whether a new care process works equally in different German settings and how the results compare with current non-standardized care. Patients and methods - This multi-center prospective mixed-method study includes 2,000 German patients receiving arthritis-related hip or knee endoprostheses. An interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral care process was developed and implemented in 3 German hospitals with different levels of care, and corresponding rehabilitation centers were included to bridge the gap after acute care. Duration and outcome - The PROMISE trial recruited patients between May 2018 and March 2020. Follow-up will end in February 2021. Assessments are performed at examination on clinical indication, 1 week before surgery, on the day of surgery, at the end of hospitalization, end of the rehabilitation program, and 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months after surgery. Outcomes include patient-reported outcomes, medical examination findings, and routinely collected data regarding the surgery and complications. Guideline-based interviews are conducted with selected patients and care partners. The primary endpoint is the presence of chronic pain at 12 months after surgery. Secondary endpoints are the number of recognized pre-existing conditions, physical activity at 12 months after surgery, use of medical services, quality of life, and interactions between care partners. Exfoliated cells from the buccal mucosa were obtained from 38 patients with oral cancer (case group) and from 10 individuals without oral lesions (control group). DNA damage was evaluated by DBD-FISH using the whole-genome DNA probe and digital imaging analysis. Collaterally, HPV infection was determined utilizing the INNO-LiPA HPV kit. Patients with OSCC showed an increase in the hybridization signal five times more intense than that of the baseline level of DNA damage detected in control individuals. The best cutoff value for predicting oral squamous cell carcinoma was 67.46, and an Odds Ratio (OR) value of 87. HPV detection analysis revealed than one patient with OSCC (2.6%) was positive for HPV. All controls were negative HPV. In conclusion, DBD-FISH permitted the clear visualization of level high of DNA damage in the buccal epithelial cells of patients with OSSC respect to control group. Vulvar lichen planus (LP) and vulvar lichen sclerosus (LS) are chronic inflammatory diseases that affect women's sexual health. In this study, our aim was to investigate sexual function, anxiety level and genital self-image in vulvar LP and vulvar LS patients.

This study was conducted on a total of 178 women who presented to the gynecology clinic between February 2019 and January 2020. The patients were divided into the following groups group 1, vulvar LP (
 = 21); group 2, vulvar LS (
 = 59); group 3, fungal vulvitis controls (
 = 48); and group 4, healthy controls (
 = 50). The validated Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), Beck Anxiety Index (BAI), and Female Genital Self-Image Scale (FGSIS) questionnaires were assessed in all women.

There were no significant differences among the groups with respect to age, parity, menopausal status, body mass index (BMI), vaginal intercourse past 1 month, marital status or educational status (
 > .05). There were statistically significant differences between the vulvar LP and vulvar LS groups compared to control groups in terms of FSFI total scores and subscores (
 < .001). When FGSIS and BAI scores were analyzed, significant statistical differences were found among the study groups (
 < .001). A positive correlation was found between the FSFI and FGSIS scores in patients with vulvar LP and LS. Additionally, a negative correlation was found between the FSFI and BAI scores in patients with vulvar LP and LS.

We conduct a study to explore the influence of impaired renal function on prognosis in Acute pulmonary embolism (APE) patients.

A meta-analysis was performed using the EMBASE and PubMed databases for relevant publications reporting the impact of impaired renal function on the clinical outcomes in patients with APE.

Eventually, 17 articles were included in our analysis. The results suggested that renal insufficiency (RI) is a predictor of poor prognosis in APE patients(short-term mortality pooled OR=2.83, 95%CI 2.20-3.63; long-term mortality pooled OR=2.30, 95%CI 1.72-3.08; adverse outcomes pooled OR=3.02, 95%CI 2.60-3.51). The short-term and long-term mortality rates of APE patients with RI were both higher than those in patients without RI.
