Performances and reproducibility of the six anti-Xa assays not supplemented with antithrombin and the HPLC-UV method were good, with limits of quantification from 8-39 ng/mL (apixaban) and 15-33 ng/mL (rivaroxaban). The six chromogenic methods showed good concordances with the quantitative HPLC-UV [bias -26.9-22.3 ng/mL (apixaban), -11.3-18.7 ng/mL (rivaroxaban)]. Higher bias and wider range between limits of agreement were observed at higher concentrations [200 ng/mL bias -42.2-36.8 ng/mL (apixaban) and -20.1-68.9 ng/mL (rivaroxaban)]. CONCLUSION Overall, the anti-Xa assays not supplemented with antithrombin and the HPLC-UV method proved to be suitable for apixaban and rivaroxaban quantification. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.Although the conformation of the polymer chain of Ubiquitin (Ub) mainly depends on the type of isopeptide linkage connecting two Ub molecules, the non-covalent (noncovalent) interaction between two Ub molecules within the chain could also tune their conformational preference. Here, we studied the conformation of noncovalently formed Ub dimers in solution using residual dipolar couplings (RDCs). Comparing the RDC derived alignment tensor of the noncovalently formed dimer with the two most abundant (K11 and K48) covalent linked Ub dimers revealed that the conformation of K11 linked and noncovalent Ub dimers were similar. Between the various NMR and crystal structures of K11 linked Ub dimers, RDC tensor analysis showed that the structure of K11 linked dimer crystalized at neutral pH is similar to noncovalent dimer. Analogous to the experimental study, the comparison of predicted order matrix of various covalent Ub dimers with that of the experimentally determined order matrix of noncovalent Ub dimer also suggests that the conformation of K11 linked dimers crystalized at neutral pH is similar to the noncovalent dimer. © 2020 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. The local invasion and high rate of recurrence following surgical treatment are the main concerns to plan the best surgical approach of treatment. Selleck Compound 9 AIMS In the current study, it is aimed to provide an experience of slow-Mohs surgery for the treatment of patients with DSFP. PATIENTS/METHODS Number of 25 patients with the diagnosis of DFSP through histological and immunostaining study was included. The slow-Mohs was performed by excision of the tumor with margins accounting for 1-2 cm from both the tumor margins and three-dimensional thickness. The obtained tissue margins were horizontally, and if any of the specimens was not margin-free, the procedure was repeated. The patients' opinion about the procedure was assessed using Patient-Observer Scar Assessment Scale (POSAS). RESULTS Number of 25 patients were included and followed for a median of 46.9 months. The median of the area of excision was 35.56 cm2 , and the median clinical excision margins were 19 mm (tumor excision margins + thickness of the three-dimensional excision). The surgery was performed once for 16 (64%), and postoperative skin closure within 5-7 days after the procedure was performed for 19 (76%) patients. None of the patients represented any recurrence. The patients' overall opinion and satisfaction POSAS score accounted for 2.3 ± 1.65 and 1.6 ± 0.59, respectively. CONCLUSION The findings of the current study are in favor of slow-Mohs surgery for the management of DFSP, while more extensive studies are strongly recommended for generalization of this procedure. © 2020 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.Refugee youth living in Arab countries have disproportionately higher rates of depression due to the effects of displacement and trauma which makes screening a priority for early intervention. The Patient Health Questionnaire for Adolescents (PHQ-A) is a reliable and valid scale to assess mental health issues, but its psychometric properties in Arabic refugee populations are unknown. This was a cross-sectional study conducted between March and Mid-April 2018, among Arabic refugee adolescents aged 13-18 years living in the Baqa'a United Nations Relief and Works Agency refugee camp in Jordan, to generate an Arabic-language version of the questionnaire and to test its psychometric properties among adolescent refugees. Five hundred and ninety-one adolescents completed the PHQ-A in Arabic. Using SPSS and AMOS version 25, exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were conducted and Cronbach's alpha coefficient was computed to assess construct validity and instrument reliability. Multivariate logistic regression analyses assessed the discriminant validity of the PHQ-A. Although exploratory factor analysis identified the nine items from the original version and explained only 37% of the variance, confirmatory factor analysis supported the one-factor structure of the PHQ-A. Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the scale was 0.82 and ranged from 0.79 to 0.81 for each item. The Arabic translated version of the Patient Health Questionnaire for Adolescents showed acceptable psychometric properties for use as a screening tool for depression in Arabic adolescent refugees. © 2020 Australian College of Mental Health Nurses Inc.The enantioselective synthesis of tropanols has been accomplished through chiral phosphoric acid catalyzed pseudotransannular ring opening of 1-aminocyclohept-4-ene-derived epoxides. The reaction proceeds together with the desymmetrization of the starting material and leads to the direct formation of the 8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octane scaffold with excellent stereoselectivity. The synthetic applicability of the reaction was demonstrated by the enantioselective synthesis of the two natural products (-)-α-tropanol and (+)-ferruginine. © 2020 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim. In breast-targeted intraoperative radiotherapy (TARGIT) clinical trials (TARGIT-B, TARGIT-E, TARGIT-US), a single fraction of radiation is delivered to the tumor bed during surgery with 1.5- to 5.0-cm diameter spherical applicators and an INTRABEAM x-ray source (XRS). This factory-calibrated XRS is characterized by two depth-dose curves (DDCs) named "TARGIT" and "V4.0." Presently, the TARGIT DDC is used to treat patients enrolled in clinical trials; however, the V4.0 DDC is shown to better represent the delivered dose. Therefore, we reevaluate the delivered prescriptions under the TARGIT protocols using the V4.0 DDC. A 20-Gy dose was prescribed to the surface of the spherical applicator, and the TARGIT DDC was used to calculate the treatment time. For a constant treatment time, the V4.0 DDC was used to recalculate the dosimetry to evaluate differences in dose rate, dose, and equivalent dose in 2-Gy fractions (EQD2) for an α/β = 3.5 Gy (endpoint of locoregional relapse). At the surface of the tumor bed (i.e., spherical applicator surface), the calculations using the V4.
