The Skewed model was found to be better than the Gaussian model in describing the photosynthetic parameters of plant leaves positioned over a stem of limited water irrigation and applied PSAP application and is recommended for further application.The performance of graphene-based electronic devices depends critically on the existence of topological defects such as heptagons. Identifying heptagons at the atomic scale is important to completely understand the electronic properties of these materials. In this study, we report an atomic-scale analysis of graphene nanoflakes with two to eight isolated or connected heptagons, using simulated C 1s X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) to estimate the XPS profiles depending on the density and the position of the heptagons. The introduction of up to 24% of isolated heptagons shifted the peak position toward high binding energies (284.0 to 284.3 eV), whereas the introduction of up to 39% of connected heptagons shifted the calculated peak position toward low binding energies (284.0 to 283.5 eV). The presence of heptagons also influenced the full width at half-maximum (FWHM). The introduction of 24% of isolated heptagons increased the FWHMs from 1.25 to 1.50 eV. However, the introduction of connected heptagons did not increase the FWHMs above 1.40 eV. The FWHMs increased to 1.40 eV for 19% of connected heptagons, but did not increase further as the percentage of connected heptagons increased to 39%. Based on the calculated results, the XPS profiles of graphene nanoflakes containing heptagons with different densities and positions can be obtained. Our precise identification of heptagons in graphene nanoflakes by XPS lays the groundwork for the analysis of graphene.Prazosin, a selective α1 adrenergic receptor antagonist, with documented anti-inflammatory potential, was evaluated for its antiarthritic efficacy by targeting specifically TNF-α. The antiarthritic attribute of prazosin validated through in vitro screening comprised thermally provoked denaturation of bovine serum albumin (BSA) and egg albumin along with membrane stabilization evaluation at a concentration of 100-6400 μg/mL, while in vivo screening comprised formaldehyde-instigated arthritis at the doses of 5, 10, and 20 mg/kg and complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA)-induced arthritis at 20 mg/kg dose. Paw swelling, body weight, arthritic score, hematological parameters, and histological and radiographic examination of ankle joints were assessed for a period of 28 days after CFA immunization. Moreover, the proinflammatory cytokine TNF-α level was also assessed through quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Prazosin revealed significant antiarthritic effect evident through protein denaturation inhibition in the egg albumin and the BSA model, stabilization of red blood cell membrane in the membrane stabilizing assay, and reduction in paw volume in formaldehyde-induced arthritis. Likewise, prazosin exhibited propitious antiarthritic effects in the CFA-provoked arthritis model manifested by paw volume and arthritic score alleviation, substantial weight loss prevention, and preservation of the normal hematological and biochemical profile. Histological and X-ray investigation unveiled no substantive structural alterations in treated rat's ankle joints. The TNF-α expression level was also reduced. Thus, the current study is suggestive that prazosin exhibits a strong antiarthritic potential possibly through inhibition of TNF-α.The thyroid gland and thyroid hormones control a multitude of homeostatic functions including maintenance of fluid and electrolyte balance and normal functioning of the kidneys. Thyroid dysfunction alters the sytemic hemodynamic and metabolic balance, thereby affecting the kidney. In this study, we aimed to identify and characterize the urinary proteome of the patients with hypothyroidism. An untargeted proteomic approach with network analysis was used to identify changes in total urinary proteome in patients with newly diagnosed overt hypothyroidism. Urine samples were collected from nine age-matched patients' before and after l-thyroxine treatment. Differences in the abundance of urinary proteins between hypothyroid and euthyroid states were determined using a two-dimensional difference in gel electrophoresis (2D-DIGE) coupled to matrix-assisted laser desorption and ionization time-of-flight (MALDI TOF) mass spectrometry. Alterations in the abundance of urinary proteins, analyzed by Progenesis software, revealed statistically significant differential abundance in a total of 49 spots corresponding to 42 proteins, 28 up and 14 down (≥1.5-fold change, analysis of variance (ANOVA), p ≤ 0.05). The proteins identified in the study are known to regulate processes related to transport, acute phase response, oxidative stress, generation of reactive oxygen species, cellular proliferation, and endocytosis. Bioinformatic analysis using Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) identified dysregulation of pathways related to amino acid metabolism, molecular transport, and small-molecule biochemistry and involved the MAPK kinase, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), PI3 kinase/Akt, protein kinase C (PKC), signaling pathways. The identified proteins were involved in the regulation of thyroglobulin (Tg) and thyrotropin (TSH) metabolism. Alterations in their levels indicate the presence of a compensatory mechanism aimed at increasing the regulation of Tg in the hypothyroid state.
