Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos
Robots aren't quite as adept in removing debris like metal screws or chunks of pasta. However, they are excellent at sweeping dust, pet hair, and crumbs. The best models have intelligent navigation and a feature to avoid objects which allow them to navigate around toys, cords and other household obstacles.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ is an excellent robot vacuum that comes with a number smart features to make it easier to maintain. best home vacuum cleaner emptying feature is one of the most useful features we've seen in an iRobot and it is compatible on both hard floors and carpets. The app will guide you through the entire process. It's also simple to use and set up. Another impressive feature is the ability to go back to where it began in our tests. It did this for 77 minutes in one cleaning before running out of battery.
Unlike some of the other robovacs we test, the i3+ EVO comes with an automatic emptying bin that dumps debris into an external dirt compartment on the base of its charging when it's full. The i3+ EVO is able to prevent overfilling by a self-emptying bin. However it still needs to be emptied manually at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L, which will last for four to five cleaning sessions.
Like the i7model, this model uses state-of-the-art floor tracking sensors to create maps and navigate neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only store one map, whereas the i7 is able to store multiple. The i7 also has the ability to make use of its map to create no-go zones as well as virtual barriers, but the i3+ EVO can't.
Although the i3+ EVO is superior at picking up debris on surfaces than the other robovacs we reviewed but it's not the best for cleaning corners and edges. It's also not as gentle on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It pulled chairs away from walls, and made some collisions with the sides of our bed, and it was stuck to cords and toys during testing.
2. Black & Decker Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro is an excellent choice for expanding your collection of robot vacuums or just starting out. It offers an elegant design with a powerful navigation system, as well as efficient automation at a low price. It's the most affordable model for the money you can get currently and is even better than some Roborock models that are more expensive in many ways.
This robot is excellent in cleaning floors that are dirty and its avoidance technology helps it steer away from furniture legs or other obstacles. It also does well on carpets and scores the top score in our navigation tests. It's only downside is that it's noisier than other models and doesn't perform as well in our owner-satisfaction and predicted reliability assessments.
The Q5 Pro has a very large 770ml dust bin that means you won't need to empty it as often as some other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240-minute run time is also impressive when in comparison to other 2-in-1 robots that we tested. When the battery is running low, it will automatically return to its dock where it recharges before resuming cleaning where it began. You can control the Q5 Pro using the app or voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
This is the first robot we've seen that has 3D mapping. This, along with other innovations, makes it excel in our vacuuming and mopping tests. It allows you to schedule cleanings, set no-go zones, and check the status of the battery, among other things. The app is simple to use, however it doesn't support Apple HomeKit. The feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. Apple updated its website's footnote in November of this year to reflect the fact that this feature has been delayed until 2025. HomeKit is not compatible with several other robots, but Siri Shortcuts are.
3. TP-Link Tapo RV30 Plus
The TP-Link Tapo RV30 Plus robot vacuum cleaner is an excellent option if you're searching for a machine that can also mop and is priced reasonably. It comes with a plethora of features for the price and features a stylish design. It can be controlled using the buttons on the machine through the app or even by using voice commands. The device is powered by batteries, and the vacuum container can automatically empty itself.
The TP-Link RV30 Plus is a excellent vacuum cleaner that can handle standard messes. It can also be used to gently mop on hard floors. It comes with a sweeping brush replacement and mopping cloth as well as a HEPA-filter. It can be used in conjunction with a smart home hub, such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to provide convenient voice control. The TP-Link RV30 Plus can be quickly set up and can be connected to a variety of floor surfaces by using the automatic mode. This will ensure the most effective cleaning results for each room and floor type.
Three cleaning modes are available to suit your requirements. The vacuuming mode utilizes the intelligent sensor to detect of obstacles such as stairs, furniture edges, and stairs. With powerful suction and three settings for dry mopping, the TP Link RV30 Plus is quick to remove pet hair, dust and other crumbs from all flooring types. The device can clean carpets without damaging it thanks to special mops.
In its initial mapping run, TP-Link RV30 Plus scans your home and saves it by using its dual navigation system that consists of LiDAR and Gyro. robot vacuum cleaners can edit the map in the app and combine or split rooms based on your preference. You can also create virtual walls and no-go zones that will stop the RV30 Plus from wandering into areas you do not want.
4. Eufy iMop
The Eufy iMop is one of the best full-featured robot vacuum and mop combos for hard floors. It features a high-tech mapping system that maps your home across multiple floors. The base station is well-designed and automates cleaning to a great extent. It provides excellent obstacle avoidance and navigation.
This model uses an internal dToF LiDAR sensor to map out your home and devise efficient cleaning routes. The iMop received high marks for its coverage and navigation. It also did a great job avoiding obstacles like furniture. It's also able to return to the base station which is a nice feature in the event that it's running out of battery during a cleaning session.
The spot cleaning mode lets you to clean a specific area on your floor. It can also be programmed to follow a certain route. This is great if you have narrow stairs or hallways. It did a good job of cleaning carpets in our carpet cleaning test, but it struggled with longer pile carpets and carpets. It is also possible to set it to automatically lift the mop pad when it encounters carpet, which is a great feature if you want to not mop your carpets.
The iMop features an onboard dust container and a water tank which it is filled and refilled at the end of each cleaning session. The dust bin that is onboard can hold up to 2.5 liters of debris and is only required to be emptying it every couple of cleaning cycles. The water tank is able to handle about a dozen mopping sessions before it gets dry. The iMop is easier to clean and maintain than a typical robot cleaner, and can be an important benefit for busy households.
The iMop smartphone app is simple to use and comes with a variety of configuration options. It offers multiple suction modes, mopping settings, and scheduling. It also lets you build virtual walls and no-go zones, so that the robot isn't able to wander into rooms that are off limits. In addition, the app gives you access to your iMop's status and errors messages.
