What You Should Be Focusing On Improving Robot Vacuum Deals
Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals

Now is your chance to own a robotic vacuum. CNET's top models are on sale this Black Friday and Cyber Monday and can save you up to 57%..

The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping with apps-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.

1. iRobot Roomba j7+

The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's most advanced robot vacuum to date. Its most significant innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes, and the pet waste that most other robots can't avoid (and often slough through). It's the first robot to provide you with pictures of the objects that it encounters, so you can tell that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the most effective mop-bot we've ever tested, picking up dirt and spills with ease without leaving any trace that was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't vacuum in areas you don’t want. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can start and stop it by speaking to it.

The design is also superior to the competition. It has a sleek, top piece that resembles an toy, not a loud and obnoxious robot. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying, which is great to speed up cleaning.

In our tests, we observed that the j7+ swiftly eliminated dirt, dust and hair from pets. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in place, instead of scattering it across the floor. It was able capture sand, small gravel and even a little grit. The majority of robots cannot achieve this feat. And it did all of this without getting caught in our pet's hair shed.

While it's not quite as smart as the $1,217 Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum and can't clean stairs, the j7+ is still an excellent option for those who need a vac and a mop in their home. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.

While the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly however we've found it be less reliable than other apps that use robotic cleaners. It can take a while to download updates, and it can be difficult to know if they are working until you see them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, the best choice is probably a hybrid. This kind of robot usually includes a built-in water tank that allows them to vacuum and mop your house at the same time. These bots also come with many additional features, including smart mapping and small object avoidance and the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. The downside is that they tend to be pricey at full retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.

Roborock is one of our top robot vacuums, and the Q5+ isn't an exception. This is their least expensive auto-empty model, and while it doesn't have some of the premium features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great option if you're willing to sacrifice a little to save hundreds of dollars.

The Q5+ is exceptionally gentle when it comes down to obstacles such as walls and table legs. cleaning robots makes it a great choice for homes that have lots of furniture. It's also extremely thorough when it comes to cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums can really be a bit sloppy. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is fantastic as well, with only a few missed corners and along walls.

Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled by a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. With the app you can start and stop cleaning, set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go zones and modify your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+ it includes a new auto emptying dock that is designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once in place emptying the bin can be done easily. It features a large LCD screen that is very useful in setting up schedules and altering settings. This isn't a necessity for the majority of people however it will aid in keeping track of your robot's maintenance intervals with ease.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly intelligent in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and functionality are some of the best on the market however it's expensive.

It is a relatively small base station that looks stunning and can be hidden when not in use. But the station's biggest selling point is how it automates various tasks and functions that most other robots leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water and electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require you to perform this.

Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tested that does a really good job of picking up debris on plain floors, and is not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robot vacuums. This means it can get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms of the house. It's not able to climb stairs as well as competitors, either and it doesn't have an dock that allows the user to set up a dedicated cleaning zone for plush carpets.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a vacuum robot that can do it all.

However, if you're looking to save some money or simply don't care about the limitations of this machine, there are plenty of other options available, including a lot of eufy models that cost substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is less expensive and has more features, including stair climbing and a full-function Dock, which provides a better overall vacuuming experience on floors that are unfinished carpets, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile ones.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy is an Anker company with a history of producing robot vacuums with the right balance of features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning of hard floors as well as mopping, carpets and other surfaces at a price that is affordable. It's easy to setup simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, switch it on and plug in the charging dock. The app walks you through the steps needed to connect it to your Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. The dock will need to be placed near an outlet with plenty of space to move.

The G30 is a compact device that measures 2.85 inches in height, so it can be tucked away under couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design isn't as ostentatious when compared to rival models. It is sleek with a black finish and three physical buttons for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral pattern over two minutes) Recharge and Spot Cleaner. You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The way in which the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from its rivals. It makes use of a built-in map to create an image of immovable objects in its path while retaining what it's cleaned and what it isn't able to access. When it's time to recharge, it will automatically return to its base, and then resumes cleaning from where it started.

The elegant G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower monthly costs. It charges faster, offers the same battery life and performs better on bare floors or low-pile carpet. It has a bigger dust bin that doesn't require the same amount of emptying. It also comes with border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 on the other hand, is more affordable and a lot more manageable to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't require as frequent emptying and is less prone to suffocating heavy materials such as cereal.
