The most just recently accepted color in the Bengal Breed is Silver. Silver was introduced to the breed by out crossing to the American Short Hair. Much debate surrounded the inclusion of silver as an appropriate color as it does not happen in any wild cat species. However, the popularity amongst breeders and pet purchasers eventually led to the inclusion of the silver color. The Silver Bengal has a silver to almost white skim coat with black markings. Silvers can have what breeders describe as stain - brown pointers on their silver coat. Stain is not desirable in the color.

She entered them in the 17th Crystal Palace Feline Program in England on October 1885. The cats were so extraordinary that they were photographed and quickly became a favorite and in 1902 England formed the very first siamese cat fancier's club.
